I’d buy it if I needed an AR.

Thats a good price on an M&P Sport, and as the ammo used to be ~$7.00 per box of 20 a few years ago, and is just now coming back down to "nearly" those prices, basically the ammo is free. Buy it, and enjoy!

I have several AR rifles; a couple I built myself plus a couple of Colts (M4 and 20" HBAR) as well as a 20" PSA AR15/A4 clone. I don't own a S&W MP15, but their reputation for quality is well established. For the price and the package you would receive, I would have to seriously consider buying it.

Decent enough price for an entry-level and a few rounds. Hard to go wrong at that price.

Agreed with every other poster to this thread. You should buy it if you can.

Prior to getting my M&P Sport 2, I had previously purchased 2 Colt LE6920’s, a pair of PSA rifles, an older Bushmaster Patrolman’s Carbine, and a pair of DelTon rifles. The Sport 2 is my favorite of them all. Granted, the Colt’s are arguably “better” guns, but each of them cost me over $300.00 more than my M&P, and I haven’t noticed any difference in performance aside from the fact that my M&P is more accurate for me than both Colt’s. My only gripe with the M&P is that the handguards it comes with are pure trash. Not really a big deal for me as I put quad rails on my AR’s anyway (yeah, I know quad rails are outdated, but I have always liked them). If I were faced with the same opportunity, I would buy it without question even though I don’t need another AR.

Yes , I did end up buying the Sport 2 , it seems ok . I did take it apart and you are correct . Those handguards are a joke . I can almost smell them melting now . lol
