Very nice, thanks. I've been thinking of getting one of those to replace an existing quad rail that seems just too thick to me. That one looks great, I think you just made up my mind for me.

I really like it. It's solid- stiff and pretty rigid. I was looking at uppers with MI S2 rails, but found the UTG Pro to be so similar in build not to pass up the savings. I am glad I got it.

My M&P Sport. I bought it used with a UTG Pro quad rail and covers, UTG vertical grip, UTG red/green dot sight and 3X magnifier, and the MBUS rear sight.
She now sports a Magpul MOE hand guard and CTR stock.
A couple more changes to follow.
Updated: Primary Arms 30mm red dot now sets on top and a MS3qd to keep it in place.
Black and Tan is great.

Tweaked my rifle again - started life as a bone-stock M&P 15OR. Most recently, I added a Criterion barrel (Wylde chamber, chrome lined, 1:8 twist, mid-length gas port - only made the switch because I wanted a mid-length system with the piston kit) and Adams Arms Lite piston kit, which has made it MUCH faster to clean. Rest of the rifle has a UTG Pro 9" railed free float handguard, Magpul furniture and front sight, Matech rear sight, EOTech XPS optic and G33 magnifier.

How does that barrel shoot for you? I have the RM1 Garand and that's the barrel they put on it in 30-06 and she's a real nice shooter!!

Brand new M&P 15T. Haven't had a chance to shoot it yet but I'm super pumped on how it turned out.

Anybody have a 3-point sling set up on theirs? Love to see how you set it up. I am having trouble with my M&P15 - even watching some YouTube vids.

my sport with the gf and sons 15-22s to make a peace sign and then a couple more of my sport. I'll be adding a sling and probably donating the optic to the boy so i can try something else. I really like the strykefire but also considering a sparc or possibly an Eotech. ill have to see one to justify the cost to myself Im sure they are worth every penny in combat but i hope to never have to use my rifle for that purpose.

But here's my new M&P15OR, already updated with the new, recently released Magpul MOE handguards. These make an amazing difference in the handling of the carbine . . . more like the original triangular M16 handguards.
These truly have a more triangular shape to them (hard to show), that lays in the hand much better. You can mount accessory rails on the sides and bottom too for lights, straps, mono grip/bipods, etc.
Naturally, it works well with the A2 type front sight, but also works great with the tall gas block on the front of the S&W M&P15OR too, I'm very glad to say!
Naturally, this new carbine is a work in progress. I imagine backup flip-up front and rear sights are next, along with a different grip.
Suggestions on front sight? It rests on the taller gas block than many AR15s have, so I've got to keep that in mind.

Or, I may just paint the gas block black so it doesn't stand out so much from the black hardware and barrel.

A little OT, but how do you like the Tipton Best Gun Vice? I was set to order one but read some reviews that stated for AR's it really wasn't optimal, and that the standard model, or the Gun Butler, or an AR specific vice like the Wheeler Delta works better?

78Staff, when are you going to add the Magpul trigger guard to your rifle? With the cold snaps you've had this Winter, being able to shoot with gloves would be handy.

Hold off on putting on an A2 front sight post. IMO, get yourself a nice metal folding front sight. But hey, if you want an A2 front sight post, go for it.

hah hey it has been colder than usual, that's for sure. I just haven't decided which one yet, but I'm sure I will get the aluminum one here at some point. Also want an MOE stud, and possibly switch from gas block sling swivel to moe mounted... haven't decided on that one yet either. Still working out the kinks on the little things

I have the Magpul Pro's now, so yeah no hurry - just something in the back of my head. I think I really just dislike the gas block finish being lighter than everything else, but haven't decided if it's worth the trouble to paint... I guess I could use header paint, or some other hi-temp style of flat back. Honestly I will probably just leave it - the Magpul Pro front is working fine.

This is for BillyJack2012.
Sorry about the bad pick but I would have to take off the front sight and slide the rail cover off but you can still see the opening in the top of the rail. And the gas block is on the same plane as the top of the rail.

Very cool. First OR I've seen with an extended rail that fit around the block. I understand there was a bit of modification needed but great job! That will save a lot of OR guys from having to swap gas blocks.

Recent updates to the M&P 15 OR...
Rainier Arms Ambi Charging Handle
Magpul Pro Front and Rear Folding MBIS
Magpul STR Stock
Magpul MOE Plus Grip
Magpul MOE Handguard and Grip
Magpul Enhanced Trigger Guard (Since Gunny4503 shamed me into getting one )
Magpul Enhanced .70 Butt Pad
UTG Sling Stud & Generic Blackhawk 2P Sling, while I figure out exactly how I want to setup sling mounts...
Researching optics - have a UTG I use on my 15-22 I can throw on it for now, but looking at a couple options, ranging from an AimPoint or PA version of it, or possibly a 1-4 such like a Weaver, Revolution, or VX-1. I'm a buy it once kind of guy, so want to make sure i make the right choice. Buddy has a AimPoint I am going to be able to check it out tomorrow.
Geissele Trigger is the next project

Very nice! See, now isn't that better, you can shoot it with your Scuba gloves on. I don't know who's worse, you or JaPes. Now you guys have me cranked up to do something else to my Sport, maybe the 13" Troy Alpha hand guard in FDE and a new flip up front sight, or the RRA trigger and anti-walk pins. The H2 buffer is already on the way.
My wife is about to stop letting me get on here.
Good Luck and good shooting.

I'm pretty happy with that rail even though I had to do some modification on the bottom front piece. The gas block is about an 1/8 of an inch to wide for it to fit. Nothing a Dremel won't fix and since you can't see it anyway I didn't care. Eventually I will probably put a low profile gas block and a true free float rail.

Minor Updates... Added an AimPoint H-1 Micro on DD mount tonight... and a color change to OD. The Black goodies get moved over to the 15-22 .

OD might look good, just sayin. You two are killing me, I should have my RRA match trigger and the anti walk pins shortly. That Troy Alpha is starting to creep into my dreams now.

Gets worse, I just ordered Battle Arms Ambi Safeties for both rifles, and a Norgon Ambi Catch for the AR as well. If BAD would have had my Giessele Super Dynamic 3G trigger in stock I would have it on the way also...
