Question Spring Tension in SD9 VE

After trying the feel of the SD9 VE in the gun shop I liked what I felt. I now find some days when I can pull the slide back but not to the point of the Slide Stop. Is it possible to get a slightly weaker recoil spring with out ruining the integrity of the firearm. I am 84 and gave away to a Grandson my Taurus because I could not pull the slide back. I am doing a series of forearm and wrist exercises to overcome this but that will take time. I carry this 9mm every day and want to be safe with it.
Any advice is appreciated . Thank you,

Can't search right now but a couple of years ago I did a search on this issue for my wife. I found about 5-6 videos on YouTube which were designed to help women but they would be helpful for anyone.

There were two approaches I think. (1)Keeping the arms and gun close to the body, and (2)pushing the gun while holding the slide. Or, a combination of these two. I think perhaps there was one from S&W.

I really don't remember whether I did a Google search or a direct search on YouTube.

Oh, one more thought. I believe a member of this forum created a thread on this exact subject. Maybe he will see this and respond . . . I think he has posted here within the past week so he is active on this forum.
