I have used duracoat and like it very well. Great quality product , good durability, but I have also used and feel cerakote is superior product. In a comparason Cerakote is slightly harder & will wear slightly longer than Duracoat. IMO I still use both. Just depends on the color and the project.

What did you use on your slide? Did you bake it? Did you remove the sights before painting the slide?

I was thinking of having my slide black chromed. I want it black but I also want something that is durable. Most places want too much to do it. I can buy a OEM S&W stock black slide for the amount it would cost me to send it out to be done. I might consider painting the slide, IF I am assured that it would hold up.

I suggest semi-gloss Moly Resin if you just want to black the slide. It just about matches the frame perfectly. Plus, it is supposed to be quite durable. I have done mine, but I haven't used it enough to comment on the durability.

Thanks. If you think about it, give us an update on how it holds up. I am interested.

Hi Markus88,

I know this is a fairly old post but if you still have that holster available, I'll take it off your hands....
I just got my Sigma 9mm last Friday, but took it to the range immediately on my way home and put 50 rounds though it.......
Wow! I love this gun already.
Anyway, since it is so new I haven't gotten a holster yet for it. So, IF you still have it let me know and I am sure we can work something out....

Thanks, Eric

Default Sigma pic

Hello everybody,

Purchased my Sigma 9 in 1996
2- 17 round clips
less than 500 shots fired
sat in safe for 10 yrs
still works, never had a problem
I will never understand it's bad rep
Love the Sigma!

Default My siggy.

A few pics of my siggy.

S&W Sigma .40VE.
Picatinny rail adapter.
NcSTAR green laser/LED light combo.
Photo luminescence front/rear sights.
Houge slip on grip.
Pigtail spring removed.
Polished sear assembly.

I just got the nitesiters on tonight! I like them for the money i paid, does not make the stock sights any worse in daylight, just better at night!

Default Hogue slip on grip.

I put the Hogue Handall slip on grip, too. It feels great, gives a good grip of the pistol.

Yes very good set up the Golden Bullet is an epic win in home defense, if I read right it has ripped through armor and engine blocks with no problem and has a 100% successful rate of fire. The tactical light should be sprayed black to blend in but its overall a great setup! Congrats!

Great! But I'm a little worried the tape won't hold up in a serious confrontation.

Id like to know the basics on how to sand and polish/shine my slide before I do anything stupid on my own. Sandpaper right? But you have to sand all of it 3 or 4 times completely with different grains of paper.... Any help would be great.

Im new here but with all the pretty siggies this thread should live on. The 9's slide is duracoat "parker" color. One of these days I will get around to polishing the barrel.

Maybe it is just me, but I think that it would be more useful if it were on the other side of the seat.

When I opened the door it would be visible if it were on the left, driver's side of the seat.

As it is, it's right under my right hand, mounted on the left side of the console and hidden under my right knee.

It would be awkward if someone was left handed, though.

The SW40Ti never saw mass production. I believe that only 5 were produced. The full Titanium slide would have made the SIGMA much more expensive than most people would be willing to pay.

I had to trade a collectible S&W and my left pinky toe to get this one. It hurt for a while, but I am better now.

What do you think it is worth on the market?

When there are only 5 of something, there is no market trend to look at. It is worth what the buyer and seller agree upon.

Mine has never been fired outside of S&Ws test firing. It will remain that way. The only way to get it from me is to offer me a really large sum of money (OK 4 figures would do it) or an extremely rare trade. I am not aware of another SW40Ti outside of the Factory.

Looks like you've got a valuable piece on your hands. Value probably could be established, I mean, there isn't a whole lot of babe Ruth rookie cards but they have a value based on supply and demand. But five? That's amazingly lucky dude. If I were you, it would be a rare trade only. Guns of that rarity (yours) are probably best kept in the family.

I would probably be willing to do it, but it wouldn't be that cheap. The problem is that it required a little endmill and the slide steel is pretty hard. Cutters are going to break! The next problem is that the front sight needs to be removed and gets destroyed in the process. Finally, the whole thing needs to be grit blasted and painted. To make it worth it for me, I would need to do three or four at a time and charge about $100 each. I don't think that too many people would want to dump $100 plus the cost of at least a front sight into a $300 pistol.
