How come there is not a lot of whining and bellyaching over on the M&P pistol and rifle and Walther PPS rebates? Same company is handling those also. Is it a more mature, understanding bunch? Or could it be the sheer volume for Sigma rebates might have been more than expected.I bought a 9VE on an impulse buy while shopping for something else,as stated before this was not the first time this had happened. The price was $319.99 good price--but with a $50.00 rebate--$269.99 a great price.I had shot my good friends 9VEAF and learned to like it .He had paid $325.00 for it a the Houston gunshow and was quite pleased when I told him about the rebate and he took the magazine deal. Both our rebates were received 6 weeks. Both weapons will be used for concealed carry permit training due to Texas rules, with revolver option. These guns are very well suited for what they are built for and not too good a candidate for too much improvement.Get the right ammo, smooth them up with original springs and learn to shoot them under all conditions and they should not let you down.I have gotten away from fancier grade firearms just because hate to worry about messing up fine wood or finish while in the field.A very much less expensive gun meeting or exceeding the performance of a much more costly gun is very satisfing.Rebates should be thought of as a bonus not the deal breaker,S&W is adding value to what ever price the seller is selling for his profit. Is their a report of someone not ever getting their rebate, please post it.Until then enjoy shooting safely .

FINALLY!!!!!!! My rebate showed up today. The rebate site showed it was mailed on 4/12. So it took 2 weeks to go from New Jersey to Florida... My CCW was processed in Orlando, sent to Tallahassee, was reviewed and processed by a state government, and was received by me in less than 2 weeks! Go figure...

The mailman was not riding a horse, nor was he a turtle. They must have batched it and then waited at least a week before they mailed it.

Total cost for my Sigma, minus rebate, plus xfer fee from my FFL was $270.00 I just wish the rebate was quicker. But they got the contract by being the low bidder. And it shows.

First off I found the tone of your post to be very pugnacious, if that was your intent or not.

Second, rebates are an incentive offered by S&W to entice someone to purchase (in this case) a Sigma, not some kind of "I hope I get it" bonus. S&W is promising to send you 2 mags or $50 if you purchase one of their products. Seems MORE than reasonable to expect S&W to hold up their end of that bargain and deliver the incentive in a timely manner and without the buyer, who completed his or her end of the transaction already, having to call, email, threaten and complain to get it. If S&W chooses to contract this service out to another company, they are still responsible that their customer's are satisfied.

Since only a very small number of S&W owners are represented on this forum it is impossible to tell if everyone who has submitted a rebate received it. But having submitted dozens and dozens of rebates (from various companies) my consumer lifespan, I can assure you it is fairly routine for a rebate never to be honored. Especially when some outside rebate company is involved.

mlk18-been called a lot of things over the years but that might be my first pugnacious-great word! My point was that there was a lot of problems reported, sometimes over and over by the same people, with Sigma rebates and little if any problems with the M&P and Walther rebates. The same company handles these also. Was the volume of Sigma rebates around the first of the year the problem?I too have submitted rebates over the years, all have been honored. Some fast ,some slow, some I had to fight for, but they all came eventually.Very few times has a rebate been the deciding factor in a purchase and it was not why I bought this pistol. In looking back over this thread it began with a guy who had never mailed anything and could not read instructions, to a flog S&W blog.I guess I was just tired of reading the same thing over and over, nothing personal-just venting like everyone else. The trigger debate has the same effect on me.

Check the postmark. I received mine today also. It the rebate company put 04/12/2010 on it. The postmark says it was mailed 4/23. They may have batched it, but wait 11 days to mail them? Just glad it came.

Mine is also postmarked 4/23. As long as I got it, that's all that matters... Unless it bounces!

Thank you. I write a lot of police reports and try to maintain an ever expanding vernacular.

I would be willing to bet that Milano Promotional Services have been instructed to give priority to the M&P series of guns, especially since they are fast becoming S&W's bread and butter. I would also bet that the newness of the M&P rebate has not created a back log yet. The Sigma rebate has been going on for some time, having been reintroduced a few times. They may also have been better prepared for M&P rebate processing having already gone through the trial and error process with the Sigma rebates.

FYI - I dropped mine in the mail on March 25th. I've been checking the rebate site daily (yes, I can be obsessive at times) and it just popped up this morning - April 28th. The entry date shown is April 2nd. No ship date as of yet. So basically about a month to come up on the radar. I've dealt with rebate systems before where the submission won't come up on their radar (if at all) until several months later.

Question for those of you submitted your rebate and checked it on line. I sent in for the 2 mags and I just checked my status at the website and saw that it was accecpted, but under quantity it listed
(1). Have others of you that checked their on line status also had it listed as (1), but still received 2 mags. I am hoping that it means one rebate form for 2 mags. I don't want to wait all this time and have them send me only 1 mag. Thanks for any help any of you might have.

(1) Means (1) order of 2 Mags. No worries.

Got my rebate today, sent it in mid February, so ~ 2 1/2 months. About average for rebates I've submitted for other stuff.

Still very happy with my purchase!

After months of waiting, I contacted S&W Customer Service last week via email and got a reply the next day from Steve Roach

Quote:
I looked into it and we sent them but there was a typo in your street address so they were returned to us. I just put a no charge order in for your mags and the order number is: #######.
I got the 2 mags today.

Got my rebate this morning. Two months to the day sense I purchased my Sigma. $50 will come in handy. To me it was never about the rebate. I made the purchase for the gun. I didn't even know there was a rebate till an hour after I got it. It was just a bonus.

Later all!!!

Sent mine off in mid-January, nothing come mid-April, called and complained, Milano had no clue, magically shows up around April 20th, says it was entered as a valid submission on April 9th, still has not been sent or received on May 6th. The process will hit the 4 month mark in a week. I could call S&W or Milano (again) but I would rather wait it out and see what will come first; my rebate or the SD9 on my dealers shelves. Anyone want to place odds?

I checked mine online today and it was listed as a valid submission April 30 (about 2 weeks after I put it in the mail). No shipping date was listed.

I got mine today. No idea when it actually came in. My landlady picks up my mail and I get it from her whenever I feel like walking up to "the big house."

I guess I sent it in about the end of March or so.

So I have now surpassed the 4 month mark since I originally mailed out my documentation. Valid submission received about 6-7 weeks ago. Still nothing sent or received. I wonder if they monkey they use to process rebates is out sick?

I still think the SD series is going to be out before I see my rebate. Hopefully they happen around the same time so I will only have to pull $350 out of savings to get an SD9. I wonder if I call S&W and throw a fit if they will send me two SD9 mags instead of the $50? Probably not.

Anyone have the direct link to the rebate page. All previous links in this thread point to the redesigned SW website.

Thanks in advance.

Status has been updated to rebate shipped!

It says it shipped 05-20-2010 but it did not show up until today. Now we'll see how long it takes to get here. It has been 4 months and 1 week so far, so I am guessing it will take another 2-3 weeks. I may even make the 5 month mark.

I returned from vacation and my rebate check was in the mailbox. It must have arrived on May 29th, given that the only other possible days were Sunday and Memorial Day. So one month to come up on the system as received and another month before it arrived in my hands.

Got it! My check is here! Arrived June 3rd, one week short of the 5 month mark and a mere 14 days after they allegedly mailed it. Woo Hoo! I will also point out that someone posted in the S&E Semi-Auto forum that he received an SD for a customer. So I guess my prediction that the SD would come out before I got me rebate was correct!

Glad you finally got it Bud. I must say, you're a patient man. Much moreso than me, I'm afraid. Let's see, do you think this mess has cost S&W anything? I've bought 3 guns since I got my rebate, 1 Glock, 1 CZ, and 1 Ruger. Did I consider another S&W? You bet I did. I wanted an M&P, but I bought a Glock instead because I didn't feel like dealing with another rebate. I'm sure we'll all survive, but it's a shame, because I still believe I'd have been just as happy with an M&P. On the positive side, I'm still happy with my Sigma. Considered trading it once, but decided it was worth more to me than the $200 I was offerred. It's part of my home defense plan and is the one I grab when I feel the need in my vehicle. I know it'll go bang when I wrap my booger hook around the trigger. I may buy an SD when they are available, as long as I don't have to deal with another rebate. Hopefully, they'll build it into the introductory price.

Over the past few months, I have bought 3 M&P pistols and 2 Sigmas. Sat down yesterday to fill out the forms and send in the rebates, and then saw that the Sigma rebates had to be postmarked by May 15. I thought "Oh Fudge" or words to that effect. I called the rebate center, and they said no, S&W was very firm on this. So, I called S&W and spoke to a manager, and he said that he couldn't give me any $$ but he would send me 4 magazines. He asked me to fax him my receipts and my address.

Pretty darn good considering it was my error...and maybe I will get them sooner than going through the rebate center. Now I have to get the M&P rebate forms sent in before June 15th!!!

My rebate (2 free 9mm magazines) arrived today in the mail. First mailed 4/17/10; listed as received 4/30/10 and arrived 6/5/10.

I got the four magazines in the mail yesterday...a week after faxing the form to the manager. I mailed the rebate forms for the three M&P pistols in two days ago, to the rebate center. I wish they would be as fast!

Oh well, since I waited this long to send them in, I must not be in any hurry to get them!

YES! Got the e-mail today saying that the rebate was mailed yesterday 6/9. The wedding that I am in is exactly one month from today and I need to get my paddle holster soon...I was sweating that this rebate might not come back in time. But now hopefully I'll get in in a week or so.

damn, I've still got nothing. does the online rebate inquiry show anything after youve gotten or cashed the check?

heres an email I sent to S&W on May 20th ......

Hello,

I sent in for a Sigma $50 rebate a couple of months ago. The Milano Online Rebate Inquiry shows that my rebate entry date was March 5, 2010. It also shows that it was a valid submission and that the rebate shipped date was 4/29/10. I have not yet received the rebate. Can you tell me the current status of the rebate please? My rebate info is ***************

Thank you

the response I got May 24th .....

**** –they should be sending the check out in a week or so

Thank you

I called about my rebate today and the lady told me that they would not be able to do anything until 120 days have passed since the system shows as shipped. that puts me at August 29 . she said the check is probably in the USPS mail system.

Sorry to hear this. My rebate check came a week ago. It only took 13 weeks!
Not the most efficient system. But then again, I imagine that there is a ton of rebate forms being sent in too.

Edit:
Correction, it was just under 10 weeks. Not too bad I guess.

I so much wish they would've offerred the rebate or extra magazine when I bought mine like 6 yeas ago.... I got a S&W china knife for my incentive. The gun is great, the knife is ok(albeit chinese), but a magazine or cash would've been preferable. Anyways, the knife took about 6 weeks to deliver.

still no check for me. mailed it out in February, the rebate site shows an entry date of March 5th, check shipped out April 29th. this is why people are so skeptical about rebates. and Im not getting kissed, not getting my hair pulled, no lube, nothing!
