Its been awhile since I was on here last which is probably why I cant find the posts any more. But has anyone sent there gun in before to have some of the trigger compents cleaned and polished because the trigger was too heavy.

Last time I was on here I saw a few posts were people had sent in their sigmas for warranty work and thats what they said the gunsmith did for them to take a pound or 2 off the pull.

I sent mine in with a badly serrated sear cam. It made for a very hard inconsistant pull. Got gun back with new sear assembly. Pull much better but still on hard side and a bit gritty.
New sear cam still has slight serration, giving trigger that gritty feel. I read articles from others who took sear assembly apart and eliminated springs and polished sear parts. I didn't want to void warranty so I did a semi polish to the sear cam.
Remove slide. Sear cam is visable at rear of gun frame. I mixed a 1:1 ratio of Gun Slick graphite lube and valve grinding compound. Put a dab on a toothpick place it on the sear, work trigger. Make sure it's getting down to plastic housing. You may need to add a bit a couple times. Pull trigger about 150 times working compound in sear cam. Now pull sear assembly out. You can see clips on how to do it on YOU TUBE. Clean assembly with non-chlorinated brake parts cleaner or equivalent. Put back in gun, lube and dry fire. The trigger will be a lot smoother and feel lighter due to getting rid of that gritty drag.
You didn't take assemblies apart or eliminate any parts. The warranty lives on...

Screw S&W's warranty. If I could buy the products cheaper with a 1 or 3 year warranty I would be very happy!

As far as them cleaning up there own bad MIM and machine work. Unless it's god awful, it's what you get from S&W now days. The Sigma is designed to be a finger tester. But with the college boys giving each other bonuses on the top end. Quality is over all back seat. But they have a hell of a WARRANTY. LMAO!!!!!

And don't feel bad about your Sigma's trigger. While the M&P's are better. They to can be gritty, with so so reset and action. And truth be told my Sigma has a better barrel than my M&P. Figure than one out.

I chose to do as I wish with my Sigma. If the frame were to crack it will be sledge hammer fodder and recycled. But thats just me.

Blastfact, if that frame happens to crack save the sear assembly for me...

S&W has done three of mine at no cost and vastly improved them.

I called customer service and told them the triggers were "gritty and rough", NOT "stiff".

The emailed a shipping label for mailing the frame.

Within about 10 business days they were returned to me at no charge.

MUCH smoother, not "lighter" and like night and day.

I had mine done under warranty as well. Night and Day as stated above. Again, you have to specify gritty and rough for the warranty work.

I replaced striker spring with a Wolf Spring made for Glock. It's a 4# reduced pressure spring.
This is how trigger weight broke down:
New Sigma 14.50# pull.
Sigma with 1300 rounds and polish listed above post. 12.50# pull.
Sigma as above with Glock 4# striker spring. 10.75# pull.
