Default 2nd trip to the range

I actually found time to hit the range today. I put another 130 rounds through the 9VE and didn't have a single problem. I can already see my aim improving as I get used to the trigger. I really like this gun. I was shooting Blazer Brass again (all I've tried so far), and I'm starting to realize it's not the cleanest ammo in the world. The whole muzzle is turning a smokey gray color. I'm gonna give her a thorough cleaning tonight.

Anyway, attached pics of my targets from today. The first pic is was the first half of my shooting and you can really tell I had the low left syndrome. All points of aim were either dead center orange box, or center of the head. The second target I changed my grip a little and just held with a firmer grip all together. Let me know what you guys think.

Oh and the second target the chest was from 10 yards and the head area was from almost 20 yards. The first target was all 10 yards.

Your shooting is improving. Despite constant whining about guns a good shooter can shoot well with any gun. There is no magic. If you master the fundamentals and execute them on every shot you will get a perfect shot every time. Once you master the fundamentals you can add speed. I think you will be alright in 25 or 30 more years. jk

Forgot to mention I also got the Hogue Handall Grip while I was there for $8. Didn't put it on til I got home though. I like it, even more comfortable than it already was!

Yeah... Hopefully it won't take 25-30 years. I'm new to handguns, but one of these days I'll post up some of my rifle targets!

Nice target and NICE rifle. I've sold off all my rifles except for the Marlin 22LR. I'm looking into buying another rifle for 300+ yard target shooting. Me and a friend have a little wager on who can build the better target rifle for under $600. I'm thinking about a Savage Stevens 200 or maybe a Savage Edge... probably in .223

I bought that way back in the mid 90's when prices were not nearly so high. I probably have about $550 in it including the scope.

Good luck on building a tack driver .223. I had a friend who tried to do the same with a .22-250 and he found anything in that small of a caliber to be very fouling sensitive. He'd get great accuracy for a short time but group size would open quickly as the barrel got dirty.

Well, it'll get cleaned after every outing, and I plan on getting a reloading setup soon. Maybe with some good hand loads I can keep the fouling at bay. Then again, I've been wanting a 25-06 for some time now but wouldn't even think about it with out a reloading rig. Only time will tell.
