Default loading problems

took my new SD9 to the range sunday and tried repeatedly to chamber a round only to watch it get jam with every round I
tried and both mags.
I am using 115g 9M lugar non P
it would not eject and had to drop the mag to clear the chamber.
Am I an Idiot or am I missing something. Ive been military trained and have been carrying a 25 auto mini colt for 25 years.
Help!!

Default Loading Problems

I suggest you disassemble the weapon and try the ammo you have by attempting to drop each round in the barrel to see if they will go in that way. If not, you may have oversize ammo (possible reloads?) or (please take no offense) the wrong caliber ammunition for the gun.

Can't tell from your post whay symptom it has.
Is it failing to feed from the magazine initially?
Is it firing, but failing to eject?
Is it partially ejecting and jamming on the empty case?
Is it tossing out the empty case, but short-stroking and failing to feed after the first shot?

Unless you have already done so, the first thing I would do is disassemble and clean the gun AND the magazines. Lube the gun per the factory manual, but leave the magazines clean and dry inside.

I have seen dozens of guns of all brands malfunction because they were not cleaned and lubed initially before firing.

Default Thanks

After reading your suggestions I checked the ammo in the barrel
Then I pull the cleaning kit out broke the weapon down cleaned it oiled it put it back together and it works perfectly now.
I will go shoot it Thursday. Yes I was afraid that I was using the wrong ammo at first myself. I just bought some federal 9mm and never gave it a thought.
I.ll report back after shooting it
THanks

Good luck and be sure to post a report when you get back from the range.

The first thing I always do with a new gun is strip it down with cleaner and then lube it myself. The packing grease they ship with is not what you should use to operate it with.

Default Just back from the range

Just got back from the range had a chance to run 150 Rounds through my SD9 I hit the target a couple times.."s"
Shot 115g federal was impressed with the weapons feel. having never fired anything larger than a 25 that wasn't Army issue
I can see I need a lot of practice on the trigger, everything was low when I got in a hurry and seems to shoot the first few in a good pattern and aim or weak wrist the last five in the clip.
but I also got to shoot a bunch of other stuff including a 50 cal desert eagle,
Dam these Jo Ja boys are well equipped
anyway I like the way it functioned I only had one round jam and the casing actually was damaged tore a little 1/8 piece out along the rim. I also need to figure out how to shoot with my prescription glasses on there progressive.
I may need an instructor that can help me, and I may look into that but I really enjoyed the weapon and look forward to practicing with it
