Default Bought ANOTHER Sigma .40 Today

this will be #4

Just couldn't pass it up when I saw this local ad:

"Like new, box, papers, etc., 2 mags, 100rnds of .40 S&W ammo

$250
"

Yeah, I know not too long ago I could buy them for $299 shipped with a $50 S&W rebate (sloooow, but they would send it eventually).

But that deal ain't currently available and hasn't been for months now.

It's had a total of 30 rounds through it, and the notorious trigger is amazingly smooth for a "new" gun.

Serial number range: DET708*

Doubt I'll have Smith work on it and just leave it "as is".

Might sell the Tokarev and put a Sigma back on car duty.

Sounds like a good deal to me on a good gun and some ammo to go with it.

ha...tell me I don't know my Sigma triggers

Shot a match this morning with the young soldier I bought it from yesterday.

He informed me he'd already sent it to S&W for their trigger work!

I knew something was up with it.

Here is one for $200 (for the moment). Another 30 hours or so left for the auction. This place is local to me. They get a ton of nice guns, but won't sell outright, they all go to auction.
I get to look at any that I might be interested in. If I get another like it, it will be an SD, in 9mm maybe, as I already have a 40VE.

Range report:

.40 S&W is just a heck of a personal defense load.

Sigma cycled perfectly, factory re-worked trigger was excellent

Tokarev sold - Sigma on car duty now

Great deal! If you're at all persnickety about triggers, having the trigger work done already has got to be cool!

Smith & Wesson SW40VE Semi-auto Pistol .40 Cal : Semi-auto at GunBroker.com
I was watching that because I want one in .40. Ended up selling for $260 plus $28 shipping, plus your FFL transfer fees. My local Academy Sports is selling NIB Sigmas for $299 plus tax.
I hear them calling my name.

BTW, congrats Doc you got a good deal!

I got a similar deal minus the trigger work. My buddy has arthritis bad so I jumped on it. I can't figure out why people frawn upon these things. I'm a novice but have put approx. 500 rounds through mine and it has performed flawlessly, and seems very accurate best I can tell
