The killer for putting 9mm into a .40 Sigma frame is the 9mm magazines are not as wide as the .40. Mag wells are different.
You'd have to use .40 mags for the 9mm, which is a hit or miss deal.
Glock barrels don't work in Sigma.
There are 9mm Sigma barrels available.

On the M&P, this is a snap. Just buy a .40 gun, the storm lake conversion barrel, and some 9mm magazines. On the M&P, the magazines interchange.

It was discussed. It is stupid.
The 9mm mags rattle around in the .40 frame. I'm not guessing, I have them.
The Glock barrel does NOT fit, just because you can put it in and close the slide. It also is so loose it rattles around.

What the post you referenced really said is"I tried it and got it to fire (SOMETIMES) and haven't blown myself up (SO FAR)."

Sorry, this just sounds like another "Hold my beer and watch this" foolish stunt..

I did buy a 9 mm conversion barrel for my G23. However, Sigmas are so cheap (inexpensive) I decided to just purchase a second one in .40 S&W to go with my 9mm. The conversion would have cost me 1/2 as much as a new gun and I would have still had to purchase new magazines.
