I received a letter from S&W a day or two after they had received it. Took about 10 days if I recall. That's from it leaving my house to it arriving back home.

My 686 has been at the factory since July 5th. I got a letter a couple of days after it got there saying it would take 2-3 weeks, but from what I understand, Smith and Wesson was closed down for vacation for the first 2 weeks of August, so they're probably running behind. I plan to call them tomorrow.

Sent my Sigma 40VE back a few years ago for a part that I broke. They fixed it for free. Took only about 10 days total. Only problem was with FedEx home delivery. I got home at 3:30 pm one day, nothing was on the porch. It came a strong rain storm about 5:00 the same day. I got up to see if it was still raining and there on the front porch was the Sigma. I never heard the (working) doorbell, plus I never left the room by the front door, since I had got home. Glad none of the neighborhood punks saw the package and decided to take it.

Default SW9F replaced with new Sw9ve

A couple month ago I noticed a crack in my SW9F frame. I called S&W
and since I live less then 5 smiles from them they told me to drop it
off at the guard shack.

Three weeks later I was picking up a SW9VE at their proformace center
free at no cost too me. The new reistration and transfer paperwork
did not cost me a dime. Got two free magazines to go with this brand
new semi auto.

This why three of my five handguns are Smith's. The other two revolvers are Rugers. You can't go wrong with ether of these American gun makers.

My next purchase will be a Smith & Wesson mp22. Thanks S&W..

They sent me a letter on friday saying they had received it. I had problems with the slide not cycling back far enough to chamber another round. Hopefully its an easy fix. I sent my mags in too. The mags rattle when loaded tho. I wonder sometimes if that is normal? My Springfield XD mags never did, neither does my buddies Glock.

Where was the crack located on the frame? Is this a know design flaw or manuafacturer defect with the 9F? I have that model but have only put maybe 400 rounds thru it in 15 years. I wonder if it's only a matter up time before it cracks?

Default Sw9ve replacment

My crack was at the rear pin at the rear of the gun. i have never heard of a 9mm frame on a Sw9F. With the 40mm Sw940 I heard of cracks along dust cover on the seriel number.

I was not the original owner so I am happy to have this new gun replacment.

Until I noticed the crack, I shot the gun a lot with no failures.

Sigma came back today. The letter enclosed said they replaced the sear assy and a barrel modification. Not sure what they modified but I guess we will see at the range. Nice to have it back.

Got mine back recently with the same notations. The barrel mods appeared to be chamfering and polishing the rear of the chamber, especially the break over a 6 o'clock, and polishing of the feed ramp. Nothing I couldn't do myself but it was interesting to see what the factory considers the right way to do it.

I thought FedEx requires sig confirmation upon receipt of gun?
How could they have left it on the porch without obtaining a signature? That driver should probably be disciplined.

They sent me an email a couple days ahead of time saying it shipped with a tracking number. Other than that, there is no communication. I even received my firearm back with no explaination of what they did, I had to call smith and wesson to get that information.
