I have fired Federal, Remington, Wolf (steel), Monarch (brass and steel), Winchester, Sellier and Beloit, CCI Blazer, cheap gunshow reloads, my reloads...and that is all I can remember. My SW9VE fed, fired, and ejected every bit of it without complaint. Simply, anything built to commercial specs will work fine in your Sigma.

Although the sigmas will digest any ammo, even some steel cased rounds I had, I usually, almost always shoot the federals from Wal-Mart. And keep 135 gr. Hydra-shok's in both the sigma and 9c. So I really like federal ammo...

just getting restarted shooting. bought the WWB 165Gr FN from Wall Mart @ $32 for 100. my new SW Sigma40 put 50 down range today. I am a little rusty and 50 rounds was enough for me. I'll look for the Federal ammo next trip.

I'm not as good as I once was and not as bad as I could've been.

I've had good experience generally with Federal ammo. Good performance from the ammo, and first-rate brass for reloading.

soonersfan,
In my 9, I shoot Federal Premium Law Enforcement Tactical, HST 124 grain +P. It has served me well and I have had nothing but top performance. If you can get it, I highly recommend it. At muzzle it is 1200 fps and at 25yds you will have 1150fps and 50yds it scores 1100.

looked at WalMart for Federal in 40SW and it was $18/50rds. the Winchester @ $32/100 was the best deal. they had UMC @$78/250. for the $2.00 difference (250 rds) I'll shoot the win. ammo (165gr FMJ FN)

Not to knock anyone but why do people always ask for opinions after they bought it. Ask for the opinions before spending the money.

Even though the wwb's are just alittle cheaper, I find them to be a very dirty round compared to the federals. That's one reason I run with federals..

Federal C.S. sucks...
I did. Wouldn't say the ammo was as much the problem as was their customer service. I had sent this pic to them and they expected me to jump thru hoops. I told them they should just send my a box but they didn't agree. They wanted me to return the ammo, in the original box, by UPS and UPS only and on my dime. If they determined it was defective they would replace the defective rounds and cover shipping. I think the pic shows something ain't right. 1/8" and 3/16" short. 45ACP 230 grain FMJ.

I know it was only 50 rnds. when I took a look down the bbl, it was very clean. in fact, it looked as clean as before I fired it. will find out how it looks after a hundred round session soon enough.

Lately I've been getting the box of 250 UMC, but before I was getting the Federals almost exclusively. Never a problem with either.

I usually shoot alittle more than fifty each outing, no less than 100.
Point being the wwb's ran fine, accuracy was fine, but the gun was dirtier than the federals after the same amount of rounds. Especially around the end of the muzzle/slide.

I have been shooting Tula and Brown Bear out of mine, no problems. Just takes a little more of my time to clean. I find gun cleaning to be a contemplative, meditative exercise, calms me down

Federals are one of the better ammo out there. But it doesn't matter, you have a Sigma so it can eat up anything that you can throw in it

My SD shoots Wal-Mart Federal without any problems. I used to spend the extra $2 and buy Winchester but since the federals shoot flawlessly, I couldn't come up with a reason why I was spending the extra money.

I haven't fired a pistol in almost 40 years. 50 rds was enough for my first trip with the 40SW. I need to work on MY trigger pull, breathing etc. I have to choose where to spend my entertainment $$.
