Default SD/Sigma platform

just wanted to say that another reason why i like the sd/sigma platform is the comfort in knowing that since there is no safety, i know that the striker is at a full rest, not precocked at 98% like the M&P and glock. i have peace of mind knowing that when i'm engaging the trigger mechanism, i'm pulling that striker from a full rest to a fully cocked and released to engage the primer. the long trigger action serves a functional purpose.

Havent looked at my SD40 but my Sigma9VE has some if you remove the barrel and recoil spring and put the slide on, you will see the slide hangs off the back of frame just a hair. This is caused by the striker pushing against the sear.

Agree it is no where near the amount as others.

I have always maintained that the advantage of a DA revolver is that until the trigger is engaged the springs are at rest. To me, the benefit of the SW/SD series is that it is similar to a 16 shot revolver with quick reload capacity. Obviously, an autoloader requires the chambering of a round from the magazine to the barrel for each shot so it is inherently more complicated than a revolver. However, the SW/SD series has well engineered magazine to feed ramp transition.
