Hello all I just picked up the SD40VE and was wondering if the SD or M&P night sights would fit on it so I could add them at a later date?

I don't think the sights on the sigma are the same as the M&P or the SD (considering they both use the same sights). I could be wrong but if I'm not mistaken one major difference between the SD and the sigma was the ease of finding accessories due to being able to use a lot of M&P stuff.

While I appreciate the reply I do not have a sigma I have an SD40 VE. Same as the SD but without the night sight.

I put a call into Smith and Wesson this morning and spoke to a guy who said it takes sigma sights........ I wonder if he made the same mistake you did and assumed I was talking about a Sigma???? I will call again tomorrow and make sure they know its the SD series I am asking about.

Oh if thats the case then yeah, the SD takes M&P sights. As a matter of fact if you look at the top of the rear sights you'll see M&P stamped on.

Just joining the forum and also FYI to this thread: I had a set of Tru Glo night sights put on my SD40VE. They're a great upgrade to this pistol. The M & P sights are what ultimately worked on this model.

Hello all. New .40VE owner and loving the gun. Was trying to teach wife how to shoot last night and she kept saying "its hard to aim"! Upon closer inspection I noticed the white dot in the front sight had apparently fallen out. Just a black hole now. Question is...should I just fix this myself with a little dab of paint or, should I make S&W aware of it and have them fix/replace the sight?

Dyounge if you do a search in this forum for sigma front sight you will find a thread titled sw40ve front sight replacement this will answere all your questions it's a great thread providing you have the sigma if you have the SD those take the m&p sights and im sure you can find instruction on youtube to do it... now if it was me i would take this chance to upgrade my front sight atleast
