I bought the SD9VE in December, and love it so much I bought the SD40VE today. The 9 shoots great, fantastic gun! I probably won't get the 40 out to the range until next week, but am hoping it shoots just as well as the 9.

I love my SD40, it's very accurate and comfortable to fire. Still looking for a good holster for it, probably paddle style, just haven't settled on anything, yet.

SD9ve owner
Great gun had my SD9ve for about 6 months
Put in the Apex trigger and spring kit, trigger pull is now 6 lbs down from 9 lbs. and nice & crisp.
Also replaced the plastic slide rod with a stainless one, the plastic rod just looked cheep.
also the Extended Stainless Slide Lock Lever is a excellent upgrade,
I could not get the slide to release with the short factory one with out killing my finger tips.

JCsgt - look at the Aliengear Cloak Tuck 2.0& 3.0. Very comfotable and very affordable holsters.

Indeed, great shooter.
The Apex trigger and springs only make it even better too.
Don't be bullied into thinking you are stupid for improving the action of your gun if you should choose to do so either.

The SD VE pistols are indeed great value for the money. I have carried several calibers over the years but have always come back to the 9mm, and out of all the others I own, the SD9VE gets carried more than anything else. I also shoot Action Pistol with it weekly now, and I do quite well. As far as the modifying your gun thing, I have been told by more than one person in the court room/law enforcement world that it is generally NOT a good idea to alter the trigger or anything like that on a carry gun. This is just speaking for my locality, but I have been advised of instances where a modified trigger on a weapon used in a civilian self defense shooting was brought up in court and used against the person who was legally carrying that weapon and had to use it. That being said, I have aftermarket triggers in two of my carry guns, but it's always in the back of my head the potential issues.
