My new SD9VE
A guy had a SD9VE that he won in a gun raffle for sale. Of course I had to have it. Now to find some ammo and test it out. What is a good basic laser to hang on the front. Also what Fobus paddle holster fits?

I use the Crimson Trace CMR-201. It works very well for me.

1st time out with sd9ve
Put 100 rounds through the new pistol today. Not a hiccup. It was also a fun gun to shoot. Now to Wally World to find another box of ammo.

I am having problem loading 16 rounds 9mm ammo to the 2 magazines that come with my SD9VE. I can only fit 15. If I tried harder and was able to fit 16 but the mag will not fit the mag chamber. Did anybody also had this problem? Can somebody help?

The new magazines need some time to break in. I had the same issue when I first got my SD9VE. Let them sit loaded for about a week to break in the magazine springs, that will loosen the springs a bit. Mine was fine after about 200 - 300 rounds that I put through her in the first month.

It took a while before I was able to fit 16 rounds in my mag also. Keep them loaded with at least 15 rounds, then eventually you can fit the last round in. If you can get 16 rounds into your mag, leave them fully loaded and it will be easier to get them fully loaded with more use.
Will the mag fit into the gun when fully loaded with 16 rounds? Slide back, or closed? It is a tight fit with a fully loaded mag!

Whoa, that's weird, I just made a thread on this very issue. Maybe someone will chime in and help.

Funny everyone is talking about the 16 round not loading into to the magazine, as I was having the same issue.
Then I found this on YouTube:
Smith & Wesson SD9VE Magazine Fix - YouTube
Don't know if the magazine needs to be modify or just keep loading 15 rounds until the springs loosen up and maybe be able to fill in the 16 round?
Hoping some other members has some other opinion or ideas

With mine I loaded 15 in one magazine, let it sit for a few weeks and added #16, and then let it sit again.
Did the same for the other...it's tight but 16 fit by hand. After time it does loosen up a lot.

Holster for SW9/40VE
I bought a Fobus HK1 holster for my .40 and love it, and I believe it will fit your 9mm real easily. If it's tight, put some gun oil or silicone inside the holster with a finger, and do it a couple of times. Put the gun in, take it out, and repeat many times until you hear a click without resistance. Your holster will work, and once in a while, repeat the lubrication process.

I have found that Armor All does a great job of "slickening" a new Kydex holster. Just spray a little on a rag and wipe the inside of the holster. The holster's retention quality is not diminished it just becomes less sticky.

Why a Fobus holster? I have both Fobus and Blackhawk and find the Blackhawk holster to be a better holster (personal opinion). Your SD9VE will fit in the following Blackhawk holsters:410025BK-R; 410525BK-R; or 420020BK-R. If you are left handed then replace the -R with a -L. These holsters also fit the M&P series as well as many Glock models. If my memory serves me correctly these are size 13 and 25 and I can change from my Sigma to the M&P series without any issues. Check Amazon.com for lasers and lights ( that's what I did).
Have fun with your new pistol and if you need additional magazines try Greg Cote, LLC.
