What year was my Sigma made in?
So I recently purchased a Smith and Wesson Sigma 9mm, I have to say it's one of the best guns I have ever owned or fired. (Taurus's version of the Beretta 92 has my number 1 right now) but I was actually curious if there was a way to find out when my gun was manufactured. I purchased it from a cop, and he was the only owner but I just want to know when it was made.
The serial number is PDX7584
Thanks.

rename this thread asking for a date of birth or something along those lines and one or more of the fine members will give you an approximate date...

First, welcome to the forum!
Yes to the Sigma!
Yes to the PT-92!
I'm a huge fan of both.

i started with a sigma, then inherited a 586 from my dad. next came a 40c, then a 15-22. bought the wife a shield a little over a week ago, and will be getting myself one this weekend. i blame it all on this site so be careful...lol

Do you have the box it came in?
If so, I can tell you the date of mfg.
If not, you can try calling S&W.

Since I'v gotten the Sigma, I'v been looking for another one chambered in a .40 . I used to be a strictly Beretta fan until I received a Taurus PT111 Millennium Pro as a gift, then I was hooked on Taurus's. Then I purchased the Sigma because I wanted a full size pistol and since then I have fallen in love with Smith and Wesson. My next gun Iam purchasing is the Taurus PT-92AF then Im getting a Sigma .40.
I have nothing bad to say about my Sigma except for maybe the two tone, but Im going to get the slide dipped soon so it really won't matter.

It does, it says 10-27-2006. I didn't know the test fire date was the day it was made. Thanks!
