Red face am I a traitor?

Bought his and hers Glocks today -.- couldn't resist the deal I got. I might not keep them but we'll see. I really dont like the way blocks... err I mean glocks look but I'm gonna give them a fair shot. glock 26 gen three and a glock 27 gen 4 with night sights. (the 27 is for her haha) she's shot a full size glock 40 (among many other guns) and she loved it, and once she got her hands on the 27 in a lgs she's been wanting one ever since (small hands). I don't think I'm a traitor yet though. I really love my sw9ve to death. hehe

I hope that most, if not all, of the anti-Glock comments made here are in jest. I've owned a number of Glocks, and they were all good guns, but I have small hands, and they don't fit my grip well, even the Gen4 models. The Glock 36 is the only Glock that has ever felt good in my hands. Well, I did have some minor problems with the 36, but they were minor. You have to admit that there are a ton of aftermarket accessories for Glocks.

I don't believe in putting anyone down for their choice in firearms. There are some guns that I have no interest in, based on prior experience (like Kimber) but I won't criticize any man for what he likes...it is, after all, his money and his preference. I will give my opinion, but it doesn't matter to me if someone likes any gun(s), regardless of what I think of it.

I hope you enjoy your new guns!

The only one you have to worry about being a traitor to is yourself. Try as many different guns as you can, and buy what makes you (or her ) happy. There are many good gun makers, Smith being one of them.

While I never thought they were they sexiest looking handgun, Glock's are excellent weapons. I have a G21 that will punch a quarter sized hole at 15 yards. If I am ever in need of large amount of firepower that will be a be the one I grab. Hey and when she's happy, your happy.

Ha happy wife happy life! I don't hate glocks I just don't like the way they look. I feel the ergos on my sw9ve are much more comfortable. I also try to stay away from bandwagon type situations. If its popular, I'll probably try to find something better somewhere else lol. I root for the underdog. Honestly one of the biggest reasons I buy smith and Wesson is because they are made in the USA and I believe in supporting companies over here. This post wasn't meant to be offensive. I'm honestly very excited! I'm not made of money and cant just blow whatever on tons of guns I'm a full time student. But like I said I got a great deal and was helping out a friend. Couldn't resist.

Nope, you're merely one of those "coexist" types.

Btw, Glocks are great, reliable tools.
Not my favorite, but in the top 10.

Congrats to the new guns. I was there a while back, even though it weren't Glocks.
My wife got her SIG P239 and I got me a P229SAS, both in .40 as our carry pieces. Found some deals that I really couldn't pass on.
Besides that I will never ever get rid of my SD9VE, it was my first pistol and I'm gonna keep her on my nightstand (the only one with rails for the flashlight).
Glocks have their track record for a reason. The only product I have from them is their field knife. It's my outdoor workhorse, preferred use is as a can opener, a job it really does well. I don't care for their pistols, but that is more personal preference, I just don't like their look and feel. Enjoy your Glocks and shoot the heck out of them.

I've owned 3 or was it 4; 19s and 26s...over about 5-8 years..... didn't like the striker fired system ( I'm a product of growing up shooting revolvers) they felt blockie in the hand ...... and as many have said they are a tool without much soul..........

So to each there own.. or we would all be shooting._______________.. I'll stick to S&W, Sigs and Berettas'.......

i own a couple glocks. 22 and 23. ive been eyeballing a 10mm glock 20 for a while now. thinking that will be my next purchase. i still EDC my sd40 though. i like it more than my legos. i mean blocks. i mean glocks. good thing about a glock. never a shortage of aftermarket parts...

You're not a traitor. Not in the least. I own four Glocks and like them all. I no more fault anyone for the brand of gun that they shoot anymore than the brand of motorcycle that they ride. I have a Harley and a Honda and listen to which one is the best all the time. To me, the best one is the one I'm on at the time. Not necessarily the same with guns but a close approximation. I just don't view my Glocks the same way as I do my Smiths. Let's face it, Glocks really aren't beautiful guns. Smiths are. At least to me they are. They're like a work of art. Also, I see "made in the USA" all over a vintage Smith & Wesson revolver. It exemplifies the type of quality that this country was once known for and which is close to impossible to buy anymore. Not just in firearms but in everything. How many things that you buy today say "made in the USA"? I think the straw that broke the camel's back with me was when the NRA sent me a knife for extending my membership. Fantastic looking knife. Wow!! First thing I saw when I opened it up was "Made In China". Damn! Our own NRA sending me a product that was made in China. Just kind of did me in. Can't we make anything in this country anymore? Nevertheless, didn't mean to rant to much. But I still view Smiths in a different light than I do Glocks

"Am I a traitor?"

In a word, no. Although this is the Smith & Wesson Forum, you know everyone who participates here does not shoot Smith & Wesson guns exclusively.

Variety is the spice of life in many categories.

I do not own a Glock, but have shot my GF's a good bit. I don't have anything negative to say about it, other than it's not my thing. I'm actually glad she picked a 19, as it allows me to play, and still claim I don't own one!

Truth be told, if I knew trouble was coming, and didn't need to CC it, I can't say for sure that it wouldn't be the best tool for the job.

OK, I'll go against the grain.
Yes. You are a traitor. You must put your S&W up as prizes for a raffle that I will hold (honestly, of course.....) and the winner (me) will receive them to ease your guilt....

I think those that shoot S&W only are few and far between. Variety...as already said...is the spice of life. Nothing wrong with that.

My first love in handguns is a Colt or Ruger single-action revolver. My second love in handguns is a Colt or S&W double-action revolver. My third love in handguns is a government size 1911. My routine concealed carry gun is a 5" 1911. My woods carry gun is an S&W 29-2 in .44 magnum.

My one and only Glock is a G20 SF 10mm. I don't love it. If for some reason I could only own one handgun, it would be the Glock for reliability and the fifteen plus one capacity of 10mm.

Glocks just work. They may not be as aesthetically pleasing as other brands and models but they have very few issues, decent prices, available in most any caliber of choice and loads of aftermarket accessories. I have come around the past few years and now own 3 Glocks and 2 S&W M&P autos...

Many people mention the way Glocks look when they talk about them. IMO, M&Ps don't look that much better, if any better, than Glocks. Examples of an aesthetically pleasing gun are a S&W Model 27, a Colt 1911, or a SIG P229 Elite Stainless. I don't think there is a polymer gun made that is "pretty." They are effective tools, and therein lies their beauty.

I'm sure they're great pistols-the only problem I have with them is when I hold one it feels like I'm holding the wrong end of a baseball bat.

I guess I have "girlie hands" because I like CZ's, TZ's, SD's, Kahrs and Keltecs..

As far as pistols, I will only own S&W. My fiance' has a Bersa but it's her gun and her choice. But I am ordering his and hers M&P 15's. She wanted an AR platform rifle after after shooting my buddy's Doublestar and really liked the M&P 15's. I've also got her looking at M&P 40's and 45's to replace her bersa. Lol Especially after she shot and fell in love with a Kimber 1911 .45.

A Glock is a tool. It is built to work and does its job very well. I appreciate the ones I own for that. I just can't fall in love with them the way I would a model 66 or 6906.

Yes, they are...in a much better direction. I had three Kimber 1911s, and had problems with all of them. Kimber was absolutely no help, either. I'll never own another. They are pretty, but if you want a gun that works, you need to buy another brand.
