Default SD9VE

this is the first gun I have ever owned, but have to say, this is a nice piece.

I have tried different kinds of ammo, and has yet to have an issue, I have shot about 400 rounds so far, wish the sight was adjustable though.

had the wife shoot it as well, she isn't to fond of guns, or should I say WASN'T...now she wants one.

very pelased to say the least.

thanks S&W

I often hear "the sight needs adjusting" from new students first learning to shoot the "plastic fantastic." After the new shooter learning how to correctly hold the gun and control the trigger, the gun often magically adjusts itself to shoot point of aim. If you are having trouble shooting low, strongly suggest taking a class from a qualified instructor familiar with your gun. It is a common issue, fixed by training and the right kind of practice.

As OKfc05 stated shooting a pistol and the problems associated with it can mimic need for sight adjustment. But, I will point out that the rear sight is adjustable for windage (rt and left group placement adjustment). Also right handed left eye dominant or left handed and right eye dominant can change placement of your grouping. If you are shooting right handed and are low and to the left then most likely your grip and trigger pull is the problem especially since this is your first pistol. Getting a little "coaching" is highly recommended.

Low and left is common. Work on your grip and trigger pull and it will be fine, pace your breathing, relax and it will eventually come easy.

It's a good gun, especially after some practice as the trigger tends to smooth out a bit also.
