Default SW9VE striker pin

I've had my Sigma for number of years and put somewhere close to 2000 rds through it by far. It has all available Apex mods installed on it and I had no problem shooting it until recently. Last time I was shooting (ammo - freedom munitions burgundy box) I had 8 misfires out of the blue, so I blamed it on possibly ****** batch of ammo until I decided to do a full cleanup and saw that firing pin barely protrudes if pushed all the way in. I checked it against a brand new M&P9 and the difference was signifficant.
So, with all that said, I was wondering how much does it have to protrude (by specs) from the slide when fired, what kind of longevity should I be expecting out of a striker pin and where would I buy one if I do need to replace it?
Thanks in advance

When you cleaned your gun did you take the striker/spring assembly out of the slide? If you didn't, this may be your problem. All kinds of tiny brass shavings, powder residue and gunk build up at the end of the striker and can cause problems like stopping your striker from going fully forward into the primer.

That was my first thought also. Probably need to clean out the striker channel.

I use synthetic safe blast free cleaner on my SW40VE, each and every time I clean it after shooting. You would be surprised how much dark residue flies out of the channel when I use this. I then spray a slight amount of RemOil in there, then blow it out with low pressure compressed air. I have not taken the striker assembly out of mine yet, and I have had this gun for quite a while.

They take down pretty much like a Glock, (catch the small spring!) and the striker /striker channel should be CLEAN and DRY. The sleeve is self-lubricating.
Take the striker out and clean it.
