Ran another 250 rounds of federal aluminum. I think its over 1000 total rounds by now. The 9 just performed perfectly, felt great and I just wanted to share. What a nice firearm.

I like the Federal aluminum ammo in my SD40VE. It's a great practice round that is very accurate and is more affordable than a lot of the import stuff.

SD40-VE owner and proud of it!

Have over 2,700 rounds through my oldest SD9VE now. Almost all of the rounds have been Tula Steel Case or Federal Aluminum Case. Only replaced (with another factory) guide rod and spring so far. No FTE, FTF, or anything else.

Went to the range to fire my M & P 40FS for the first time a couple of days ago and my friend brought his SD9VE to shoot. Both ran flawlessly for over 200 rounds. My M & P really impressed me and my buddy's SD9VE also was without a hiccup of any type!

My friend has over 1,000 rounds thru his SD9VE now and it hasn't choked yet! Great pistol for the money! He really loves his and I am sure you will love yours!

I have a question for you. Why did you replace the guide rod/spring assy?

End of guide rod starting to look chewed up.
I've put 2,700 rounds through pistol (number is 2,850 through it now). Who knows how many before I bought it (used).
Maintenance before issues.

They are aces in my book. Asked for serial number then shipped it to me free. Also sent me a front sight for free too (the previous owner boogered it up pretty bad).

Its good to hear about your gun performing well after so many rounds but when you started talking about your factory guide rod getting chewed up, is the exact reason I replaced both of my factory guide rods with stainless steel ones and after thousands of rnds through my SD9ve my steel guide rod looks just like it did when I first installed it and it has not put any wear on the slide either, so there is no question about the difference in strength and reliability of steel compared to thin polymer rods like the ones in the SD series guns. I like a no maintenance guide rod system since it to me is a crucial part of the entire functioning of the gun. The only thing that can wear out on the steel guide rods are the springs themselves other than that your good to go for a long time.

Besides the cerakote and stippling (which is cosmetic) on both of my SD9VE's, I like to keep em stock.

I used to own both an SW9VE and a SW40VE. Yes, I do regret selling them sometimes. They were built like a tank and would eat ANY kind of ammo I fed them.
My son just recently bought a new SD9VE. We took it out for a test drive a couple of weeks ago. We were shooting the cheapest ammo WM sells, (Tula steel case) Perfecta, Monarch, and some other brands. That thing ate EVERYTHING and shot so smooth. I will be buying me one in the near future.

Add me to the list of SD9VE owners that love the pistol. Have a tad over 800 rounds through mine of all types and it has never given me any issues other than two single jams that were ammo related. My only complaint of the gun as a stock piece is the trigger; the heaviness of the pull didn't bother me too much as the the break was clean, but i absolutely hated the reset of the stock trigger. A $20 spring kit fixed that issue though and it is now one of my preferred 9mm out of the 7 that I own. Reliable, accurate, comfortable, it hits all the marks in my book and I even carry it fairly often. One thing I do like to point out to SD9 owners though is the recommendation to NOT use +P+ loads in these pistols. The platform
Itself can handle the pressures, and some like the infamous Federal 9BPLE etc do function fine, but the hotter +P+ ammo from the likes of Buffalo Bore etc does not aggree with the relatively tight chamber tolerances of the SD9VE. The expanded brass after firing is too large a diameter to get out via the extractor and remains stuck in the chamber forcing you to pull the slide off to remove the spent casing. This is obviously the LAST thing you want to happen in a self defense scenario so I strongly urge never to use those types of ammo in the SD. Glocks and other pistols with loser tolerances handle it just fine, but not the SD9VE or atleast MY SD9VE. Every other type of ammo I have tried in standard and +P has functioned flawlessly though in my SD9VE, all 115/124 FMJ I have tried functions perfect as have numerous boxes of all weight hollowpoints. My personal preference is the 124 & 147 Federal HST's but I have tried atleast 20 rounds of each of the following as well with no hang ups:
Federal 115 +P+ 9BPLE, Federal Hydra Shock 147, Remington 147 Golden Sabre, Winchester 115 Kinetic HE, Winchester 147 PDX1, Sig Sauer 147 Vcrown, Hornady 135 Critical Duty, Speer 124 +P Gold Dot, Winchester +P 127 Ranger T. I have also shot one mag of the CorBon DPX 115 and 1 mag of Federal Guard Dog EFMJ, same story, perfect function.

I have lost count how many rnds are through my 2 yr old SD9VE. NICE, NICE pistol.
