Default SD9VE Schematic

Greetings to all.
I'm looking for schematic for a California Compliant SD9VE.
I've checked Smith & Wesson, Brownells, Numrich, no luck.
My issue is I installed the APEX trigger and for some reason the magazine safety is not working. In other words with a round in the chamber and the magazine removed from the weapon the weapon will still fire. This was not the case before the install of the APEX trigger.

The fine folks at APEX are your best source of help with the APEX install.

Just curious, why would you want the magazine disconnect safety?

Land locked asked a good question. Why..?

But all this trying to make the SD something it's not reminds me of an old Chinese saying: SD 9E VE 是一种自我防卫的手枪。 别去碰它。 特别是如果你不知道自己在做什么。

I left mine out.
No need for it unless you absolutely want the disconnect.

Save the parts or you can try to find a picture. I have yet to find a schematic on how it goes back together.

"Is a pistol of self-defense. Do not go to bump it. Especially if you do not know one are making anything." That's as close as I can come to a translation

I live in the Midwest but did a special order through a local dealer for the CA version. I appreciate the extra safety features and in particular the magazine safety. I can leave a round in the chamber and a loaded magazine near or partially in the gun, and leave it for my wife. She has a bit of trouble racking the slide but can easily seat the magazine in case she needs the gun for self defense.

I do have some 16 round magazines for convenience on the range and I keep one ready for use, however I find it hard to understand how someone in a home defensive situation would need more than 10 or 11 rounds. The "party" would be over long before that many rounds would be consumed.

I'm licensed for concealed and open carry but have never seen the need to carry a gun on a daily basis.

You have got to be kidding. That "safety feature" can get you killed in an actual shooting situation. I take it you have never been in one, or trained for a magazine change in a actual firefight.

Default Magazine Safety

Perhaps the person is trying to comply with state law.

Also, unless the owner intends to fire only one round, he would have a magazine in the weapon.

I guess you never thought about a reload situation? That moment when one mag is out and you're rushed and need to fire before you load the next mag....Oh wait, I forgot. 10 rounds is more than enough for a home invasion.

If you have not figured out the magazine safety disconnect.
I'll reassemble my disconnect in my pistol and post the pics if you like.
