Shoot it or sell it. Not really suited to mods and not much on the aftermarket for it.
It is one of the first of the Sigmas, and it was intended to have a revolver-like trigger. I call the trigger Algebra Problem, being long and hard.

I bought one used about 6 months ago. Mine is a retired duty pistol. It has "FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT OR MILITARY USE ONLY" stamped on the mags. I installed an Apex trigger, replaced the slide lock, and installed s stainless guide rod with a new spring. I have about 400 rounds through it with no problems. It's proved to be reliable and reasonably accurate, and since it is my least valuable gun, it's become my truck glovebox and night stand gun.
I'd say start shooting yours and have some fun with it!!!

Years back my local Sheriff's office issued the SW40F. They had some guns that were total junk (reliability issues, parts breakages, etc.), they had some guns that were rugged and reliable. It was clearly a QC issue and not a design issue. One of those deputies put thousands of rounds through his and even got permission to continue carrying it when everyone else went to Glock 22's. Even though he is now retired I still see him at the range shooting that SW40F some 18-20 years later.

Local police department issued them to its officers some years back. They got them from S&W for $60 each!

Hi guys I'm new and have a question for y'all. I have a sw40ve and in the process of modding the trigger pull I seem to have lost one of my pins for the sear housing assembly. I lost the one that is two diff sizes and the trigger rod connects to. Can I order just the pin or will I have to order a whole assembly? Also what would that pin be called

Good luck on getting any of the sear parts from S&W or anybody else new. Might find something from used parts sources.
Otherwise, might have to send the whole gun to S&W. This is one of the hazards of home gunsmithing a Sigma and losing parts that aren't readily available.
