Default sd40ve

Does anyone sell a 9mm conversion barrel for a sd40ve?

With the gun being so cheap, why would you want a conversion kit?

The parts would be almost the price of the SD9VE.

You can pick it up on sales for as low as $260.

No doubt that I would just buy a 9mm if that is what I wanted, but these tinkerers seem to enjoy modifying things.

If I had a pristine, super nice, 1911, in 9mm or full .45, I would consider buying a .22 conversion so to have the pleasure of holding a 1911 but paying for .22 LR ammo.

I had access, on weekends, to a 1911 in .22 cal, (free ammo) for 4 years, courtesy of the NROTC rifle team. (I wasn't on the pistol team- I would have brought their scores down) but did very well on the rifle team. That was in the early 1950's and in this state, at that time, you could shoot just about anywhere. Can't do that any more . . . sad.

I have posted elsewhere that I recently bought a low-end 1911 in .22 cal, just for fun and cheap shooting.

Other than that, I would just buy an SD40VE if I wanted a larger caliber than my SD9VE. I agree completely that buying a conversion for a low end gun makes no sense at all.

Why does this keep coming up?
