Default FINALLY got to put an SD9VE on layaway...

It has been a very long time coming, and I wish I could say I was able to bring her home today, but I at least I am able to say I have one... in 90 days or less. This will be my first handgun and I do intend to carry it (following local laws and regulations, of course). My only gripe is I wish the trigger reset was a little shorter. This is a training issue and nothing more. As for the trigger weight, I have no idea what all the crying is about. I currently plink with a S&W M&P-BB and one of those Wal-Mart Airsoft revolvers with the 80lb trigger (it's really not THAT heavy, but sure seems like it after 4 or 5 gas cylinders). This SD9VE trigger is like melted butter compared to those.

Anyways just excited to be able to be apart of the club finally.

Cool. I've had mine for a couple of months now. I've put about 350 rounds thru it, all different types. Trigger pull doesn't bother me. The reset takes some getting used to. Enjoy it when you get it.

Take some safety classes and what ever else that's needed to get your Concealed Carry Permit .. learn the rules, it's a lot of responsibility, you might need to change some of your habits and the way you dress ..

Good Luck !! Stay Safe !!

Welcome to owning a SD9VE. These are reliable, practical pistols. The trigger weight, a subject of a lot of discussion, is more of a problem for those used to shooting light, crisp triggers (good 1911's, Sig-Sauers, etc.) than for those used to shooting revolvers. There are threads here discussing the merits of modifying the gun (take-down levers, Apex triggers, different sights, etc.) versus leaving it stock, but lots of room for new perspectives.

I have over 1000 rounds through mine with no failures, and have gotten used to the trigger. No problems. Congrats, and enjoy yours.
