Default Sd9ve slide lock gets in the way

I thought I was having feed issues today until I realized where my thumb was resting. I have it right against the slide lock. So I inadvertantly locked the slide open 3 times while at the range. Anyone else having this problem? My thumb is comfortable in that position, but I guess I'll have hold it somewhere else. I've heard of some people having their thumb on the slide lock and it won't lock open after the last round is fired. At the time I was using federal 115 gr fmj. I've shot 4 different brands of 115 and 124 gr with no issues until today.

I only had that happen once when I first got my sd9ve, and I learned to reposition my thumb and it hasn't been a problem since.

Hard to show without a pic, the thumbs should almost be pointing toward the muzzle. not up so high. Please try your grip. Its that easy

Lucky you solved your problem.

As for me, I'm very skittish about my grip, don't want to have anything living (on me, anyhow), up near the slide.

Added comment- Right Thumb? I just tested my grip and neither thumb is near the slide lock. My right thumb seems to end up just above the magazine release. How did you get your thumb so high?

Haven't shot mine yet, but can see how a high (both) thumbs forward grip might cause one to somehow engage/disengage the slide lock. If you watch Jerry Miculeck shoot, his gripping hand thumb points out a bit instead of parallel, near the slide lock. While his support hand thumb points forward.

Next time out, I'll try some different suggestions and see what works. Thanks all
