Default Have my Baby back from gunsmith...

Got my baby back I had the trigger and spring kit put in and went a shot today have noticed a couple things... A couple times when I would put mag in the slide would release on its own also I have a pin or rod sticking out I didn't notice before I am not sure what it is or if it is a major issue, I put 200 rounds thru it today before I realized the pin sticking out.. Have also included other pics of my "upgrades"

Nice! Did you lazer etch that in? I've been thinking of doing something similar.

If you are talking about picture number 1, it is part of the ejection system. It pushes while the black hook on the right extracts.

How many rounds are in the magazine when it is releasing? Some folks have problems with a completely "full" magazine. If that's the case, just put in one less round, not a big deal.

Your pictures show more than normal mold flashing, do you feel it when you are shooting?

It doesn't do it all the time just a couple of times as far as releasing the slide, Is it a problem to shoot with the pin sticking out??? It wasn't before the spring and trigger job..Just don't want to screw up my weapon..Yes am talking about pic 1

Photo 1: Normal. This is part of the extraction mechanism. It's always been there.

Photo 2: I never cared for grips, but whatever works for you

Photo 3: Apex triggers FTW!

Photo 4&5: cool

As for the slide releasing with the new magazine. I've had that happen only once or twice with my SD40VE, but that's it. Never been a bother to me.

The slide releasing while inserting a fresh magazine is a known "feature" on the M&P line. Does it release while you gently insert the mag? Or were putting it in with a little force? Myself, I call it a feature because it is one less step I have to do if I am ever in a self defense situation and have to change magazines.

It's indeed part of the ejection/extraction system. The Magazine disconnect mechanism is a flat piece that can be seen when looking down with the slide open and the magazine out.

It's included in a section of the user pamphlet that is shipped with the gun. I have a magazine disconnect in my SD9VE and am very familiar with it.
