Question Questoin about spring tension of mag release...

My SD9VE does the right thing when you hit the mag release button (the magazine comes shooting out of the well with reasonable force). Magazines in the well of my SD40VE, however, just pops loose but doesn't advance on its own. It doesn't seem to matter if this mag is fully loaded or not.

I am contemplating having my SD40VE taken in for the trigger work. Should I have that gunsmith also look at what's going on with the mag release?

When I conduct reloading drills, it turns out it's pretty important that the mag drops out without having to be manually stripped from the well because once I hit that button, I'm already drawing and loading a mag from my pouch. One hand holding the gun, the other hand handling a new mag. Nowhere in my six-motion routine do I have a step for stripping the mag then reaching for my pouch.

Thoughts and opinions, please.

Thanks!

Since you use the plural "Magazines" it must relate to the magwell and not a magazine.

It seems to me that you should be able to hold the magazine release in while pulling a magazine out to see where it is dragging.
