Question How Do I Assemble this, rear, SD9VE

Hey Guys,

I was swapping out the stock trigger and spring for the APEX spring and trigger last week. I was pulling out the rear pin when the spring pictured and metal Lever? pictured fell out of the mag well. I have looked at about 25 videos and countless pages to see any specs or design sheet as to the rear sear mechanism or wherever these pieces go.

I would gladly appreciate any input at all.

Thanks

This comes up from time to time for California guns with the magazine safety.

Explaining the assembly process in words is difficult.

APEX has, I believe, has helped some folks in your situation. Some time back there was discussion that they were acquiring a California gun just for that purpose, not sure of the outcome. Maybe they can help you.

Otherwise your best bet is to just take it to a gunsmith and have it done in in 5 minutes. Then take some good pictures for next time.

I have a CA gun, special ordered here, because of the extra safety features and additional drop testing those models have passed.

If you look up "inept" in the dictionary, you'll see my picture. I have, from time to time, attempted to do things to various guns, and in most cases other than the very basic, I've ended up taking the various pieces of those guns to the local gun shop I frequent, which has a gun smith on staff. After my latest fiasco, the gun smith told me to just bring the gun to him first, and he would do what I wanted done and wouldn't charge me unless it was something really significant, because it took him less time to do it first than it did to fix what I tried to do.

As Dirty Harry said, "A man has got to know his limitations."

I took apart my SW40VE sear assembly for the first time completely last night to clean everything and had a heck of a time getting those two springs back with the proper two pins aligned. Removing the pigtail only is easy but once you take the sear out completely it was fun. Can't believe how dirty everything was with less than 500 rounds through this gun
