Default Sd9ve upgrades

So I bought the sd9ve about a year ago and I love it, over this last year I've become very interested in idpa. I got the pistol for $300 so for about $100 in upgrades I think I can make this a solid competition gun to start out with.

My question is what upgrades do you recommend? Trigger and spring kit? Guide rod and spring kit and what # spring? Sights? Any advice is appreciated, thanks Anthony

The biggest benefit for your money is going to be the Apex trigger and a spring kit. The biggest complaints about the pistol is the trigger. The rest of the firearm is good and will serve you well. Nicer sights would be nice for night purposes and a metal guide rod would be nice for long term wear and tear but for overall pistol function and accuracy, the trigger and a lighter trigger pull are going to be the biggest benefit.

Good. Go shoot a few matches and learn the sport before you start redesigning your pistol. Then you'll know your level of interest, what DIVISION you want to shoot in, and even whether you want to put money into a "fun level" SSP pistol instead of getting an M&P Pro.

I've used my SD9VE in 2 IDPA matches and haven't had any issues with it so far in the matches. I did put the Apex spring kit in (had to take their striker spring back out) and Hi-Viz fiber optic on front

Why did you have to take the striker spring out?
