Default sd9ve 9mm ammo pick

I don't have a lot of 9mm ammo to pick out off can someone tell me what is the best 9mm ammo for self-defence out of these three Thanks

1. Geco JHP

2. Hornady Zombie Max

3. Federal American Eagle FMJ

1st priority: reliable in your pistol
2nd priority: shoots to POA and you can hit with it
3rd priority: in 9mm, expanding bullets are preferable to FMJ, all else being equal

There is no universal "best", and the shooter who chooses a defense load without trying it is putting too much confidence in hearsay.
I personal use Speer Gold Dot HP in 9mm as my first choice in defense loads, and Hornady when I can't find the Speer.
I have shot quite a bit of both.
My experience with the Sigma and Sigma 2.0 (SD) is that they are very reliable and NOT picky about ammo. Would I carry any ammo in one of my pistols without trying it first? Absolutely not.

I agree. A good place to start is to meet the above requirements before anything else.

Assuming it's reliable in your gun.... Speer Gold Dot, Federal HST, Hornady. Look at Hornady Critical Defense. There is nothing wrong with Zombie ammo it's just you're paying more for the same thing cause it's green and has a fancy box.

I like to stick with Speer Gold Dot or HST because they come in 50 round boxes for the same price as the 20 round boxes.

Winchester Ranger is also good

Why are you limiting yourself to just those 3?
