The little brother just bought a SD9VE (boy that's a mouthful, if there was ever a gun in need of a nickname.) His one complaint was the "silver" slide.
We haven't shot it yet but he's excited. We'll compare it to my Shield and see what we think. He couldn't resist it at $315.00.

Are components ...ie slide, mags, springs etc... interchangeable between the SD9 and the SD9VE?

With few exceptions, the components of the SD series guns aren't available individually, and many parts are "factory installed only."
If you look at the Brownells S&W schematics, the SDs are conspicuous by their absence.
