Default Has anyone painted the slide on their SD ?

Hi all, I'm new to the forum, but I've had my SD9VE for almost two years and have about 600-700 rounds through it. I would really like for the slide to be black to match the frame as the two tone thing isn't really grabbing me but I'm thinking that having it sent of to be cerakoted might be too expensive so I'm thinking of maybe duracoating it or something and I'm wondering if anyone on here has done it and if so, how did it turn out ? Thanks in advance.

Check out some kggunkote. If you have a air brush or hvlp gun you can do it fairly easy. It's a bake on finish.

I seem to recall reading a post about S&W being finicky about painting...and warranty service.
