Cool SD9VE Spent Shell Ejection

Howdy, Is anyone else having the spent shell casings coming back and hitting your shooting arm and shoulder? First time firing this weapon and none of my others, XD's, eject the casings back at me.

I had this problem after about 400 rds thru the firearm. I was told to replace the recoil rod and spring assy with a Glock 19 set. I did and it has made a difference, but still seems to not eject as far as when new.

Thanks for the fast response! This was the first and second magazines I've ever shot with this thing. A Glock spring assy and rod? I've noticed different spring rates for them, any suggestions?

Thank you sir, I appreciate it. I went ahead and ordered this one:
Assembled Stainless Steel Guide Rod for Sigma and SD VE Pistols
Options: Spring rate: 19lb Recoil Spring
Guide Rod: Stainless

I'll let you know after I shoot it with the new rod.

Has the issue of metal guide rods tearing up the slide and frame contact areas been solved?
