Call MIDDLEBRANCH MACHINE @ (330) 412-9750 and tell them your situation.
Or, go to their website;
Middlebranch Machine - Home | Facebook

Below is the statement from a customer that had work done to his SDVE.

I am beyond please with the slide work Middlebranch Machine has done to my SD9VE slide. The quality of the ports and Titanium Nitride coating is absolutely amazing. I highly recommend this company to anyone wanting to customize their firearms. Outstanding services. Thank you Middlebranch for your amazing work.

First off.... Ty for your service to the country. I will definitely look into that was talking to the wife just a few ago saying I may end up just having to have some work done to it engravings or something to that effect get rid of them. I know it isn't the most expensive gun and i could spend more doing this than gun is worth butttttt it is a amazing gun to shoot... I just dig it man. It's no 1911 but I do love it n have no plans of getting rid of it.

For $88 total ($80 for the Black Nitride coating of the slide, $8 for MIDDLEBRANCH to ship the slide back to you) you will have a slide that will look as good or better than the SD9's slide. You can ship them the slide complete and they will disassemble and reassemble it at no extra charge.
Below is a pic of my SD9. Your SD9VE slide will look like it, or, you can have anything custom done to your slide.
