The best price right now is $250 - $25 = $225 after mail-in rebate. The is for the standard SD9VE with stainless slide.

My price from Palmetto State was $260 to my FFL. The rebate will cover the transfer fees.

I bought a SD9VE from my LGS about two weeks ago. $315 -$25 so $290. But I prefer to buy from the LGS and help keep them in business.
The SD9VE is my first polymer pistol. All other handguns I own are steel or aluminum framed with hammers. So far, so good on the SD9VE

I mostly buy from my LGS too. The SD9VE I got from PSA was my second one. The first one came from my LGS for a tad more. So I'm doing my part keeping them in business

Where I live it's a farming community. There is only (1) LGS and he tries to screw EVERYONE! The big city is about 55 miles away with BOOKOO gun stores.
Our LGS was selling TulAmmo 9mm 115 gr. 50 ct. box for $24.95 a few years ago when the ammo scare was on. He now sells it for $18.95.

$349 for mine with the amazing sights.
Maybe not the best price on the planet but worth every penny of it.
The value of happiness is in the eye of the beholder.

I'm embarrassed to say how much I paid. I made the mistake of buying it in Cook County in Illinois. Never - ever purchase a gun or ammunition in Cook county. A box of 50 rounds has $2.50 in taxes alone. A nickel a round tax. I really like the SD9 but I learned the hard way to do my research first and not make a quick decision.

Academy Sports has put the SD9/SD40 on sale again for $329.99 down from $349.99. Subtract the $25 rebate and the cost is $304.99.

I just purchased a SD9VE from sportsmans outdoor superstore (hope that place is ok) and paid $267 and change, minus the $25 rebate will put it in the $238 range, good price I thought. Im still waiting for it but hopefully i will have it soon.
Do they make a black slide for it or any other fit or can it be blued? The stainless is nice but just wondering if it could be made black.
I researched the hell out of it, watched videos etc and I dont see one thing wrong with it. I will be curious about this trigger though that I read so much about.
What the ammo does this pistol like best? I just couldnt see spending $500+ on a glock or near that for the springfield mod 2. I think I will be more than happy with the S&W.

First of all, welcome to the board.
You just bought what many of us consider is the "Poor Mans Glock." The black slide is called the SD9/SD40. But, if you want your slide done in black, any good gun shop that does this kind of work will do it up however you want.
Check this company out; Details
For $88 they will take your slide apart, Black Nitride it, re-assemble it, and ship it back to you. They have a (2) week turn-around time. And, you must ship it to them on your dime.
Ammo; these guns will eat ANYTHING you feed them. And, the trigger, shoot it for awhile to see if you like it. If not, go here; Details
BTW, that is a GREAT deal/price you got the SD9VE for!

thanks appreciate the welcome, I doubt I would change the slide but just wondered. Yes I feel like thios is going to be an excellent gun. Just couldnt see spending $500+ on a glock when this was available.

im really curious about this trigger. I mean how bad can it actually be? Dont know yet of people are being anal about it or if its really no good, I find it hard to believe a company like S&W would put out something thats absolutely no good. So guess I will have to have patience ubtil I get it and fire a couple hundred rounds through it. My plans are to keep this one in my truck and then get another for the nightstand and let the wife have that one. I grew up on long guns and other than firing a pistol here and there this will be my first real handgun, besides a couple of .25 autos Ive always had.
