Default SD9VE Sight Options

I am half thinking about putting different sights on my pistol. There are some Williams Firesights on Epay for 40 bucks. Anyone have any experience with these?

Not on the SD9 but I've had a limited experience with them. On my 10/22, they shot high. On the PT145, they were better than the stock Hine 8 sights. I do like the better visibility they offer over a stock sight.

Remember this, any M&P sights will fit on your SDVE series gun. There are A LOT of M&P sights for sale out there!

I went with HiViz Red Litewave front sight (said it was for an M&P); made a world of difference.

Are there differences in height with different calibers?
I know that SIG got different heights for the .40S&W and .45ACP than for 9mm and .357SIG. So do I have to get sights for a M&P 9mm for the SD9VE and sights for M&P .40 for the SD40VE??

Do they all have to be pressed onto the dove tail on the slide? Or do they have some that have a set screw to tighten to the slide?

The front and rear are both dovetailed and you will need a punch or sight pusher The rear has a set screw but is tight enough to not need it. In my experience some of the aftermarket front sights are a little too small and I've always used loctite on them or else I could move them with finger pressure.

I have heard a few people state this before. But, with all of the SW/SD/SDVE front sights I have installed I have YET to have this problem.
IMO, besides the wider take down lever, adding M&P sights to this handgun is the BEST investment/add on there is.
