I heard the same thing and tried to research it a bit. I have not found anything solid yet.

I remember reading about some SW9VE's(Sigmas) going to the Middle East during the first Gulf war. I don't think I've ever seen any follow up reports about them though.

Yes they went to Iraqi army/police along with a hodgepodge of other handguns. Basically using a known name to meet a price point

The SW9VE's were given to the new Iraqi armed forces after the Second Gulf War/OIF. There was a model called the SW9VE Allied Forces that had a black slide. The SW9VE was not yet in production in 1991.

It would be neat to know, but I honestly don't really care if it is a battle proven design or not.

Those torture test vids never have impressed me. My SD9VE will never go thru any conditions like that so why should I care how it will perform frozen in a vat of liquid oxygen for 5 years, or even worse.... being made to sit next to Nancy Pelosi during a political tirade of hers?

Because you want to know what your firearm is capable of. My guns don't go through that either but if they choked on anything besides perfect conditions I wouldn't buy it

The whole thing is like how people go on about how the AK is better than the AR because it works if you don't take care of it. A cleaning kit is cheap and small. Why the hell would you not take care of your gun!?!?

It's more like because you don't need to worry about cleaning it if you don't have the time. A cleaning kit is cheap but the minute traces of carbon should not put a weapon out of commission. And I'm not taking about the AR. When it comes to AK/AR..... the AR is not as sensitive as people make it seem and the ASK is not as inaccurate as people make it seem.

Default The filthy 14

If anyone out there still believes you have to clean an AR15 with Q-tips every time you shoot it,google- the filthy 14. It will open your eyes. A quality built modern AR is extremely reliable.
Thanks,Tad

I apologize for derailing the thread. My point was I have an sd9ve and have shot the snot out of it with absolutely ZERO malfunctions. Most of those rounds were cheap Russian or aluminum case ammo.
