I stopped by a local gun shop today. They had some SD9's and 40's. I saw one with a red tag, which means used. It had a funny looking trigger, but was like new, case, 2mags, all the paperwork, and priced at $265. After the sales clerk showed it to me, the manager came over and told me it has an Apex trigger installed. He said it's one of their customers who is always upgrading whatever he buys, he shoots a box or 2, then gets bored and trades it off for something else. I like those kind of guys. They never shoot it enough to put any wear on it. I used to work at a gun shop and we had a couple guys like that.
Anyway, it came home with me. It's raining today, and I have work over the weekend, but I'm looking forward to getting out with this and trying it out. The trigger feels real good dry firing it.

I have had mine for over a year now. Only mod I did was put in an Apex trigger....did not even install the springs because just the trigger made the gun perfect for me. The more you shoot the SD9VE the more you will like it......r at least 95% of those that have bought one feel this way.

Did you have to file the trigger at all ? Some youtube vids show them removing material from the back of the trigger because it binds rearward .

Since the original owner installed the trigger, I don't know if any filing was done. It doesn't look like it, when I took the slide off.
I also looked to see if he changed the guide rod, but it's the original.
I'm a fan of the SD line. Alot of gun for the money.

I had to file mine to suit. Not a big deal if you have an ignition file. I could file it in place...didnt even have to dis-assemble it to file. Emory board would probably get you by also. Installed the whole kit. Magnificent difference!

Every pistol is different. I did not have to file my trigger fr it to fit and function.

I had some binding and I called Apex about it. The rep said filing is not always required, but since we are dealing with a polymer trigger opening about 10-15% need a small amount of filing. Mine required several passes in the rear of the trigger on the upper part of the safety tab. Never have had trouble with it and like I said I never considered it necessary to put the springs in, just the trigger.

Finally got this gun out to the range Wed. morning. As expected, it performed like a champ. The Apex trigger is a great improvement on the gun. And, as always, the SD fed and extracted everything I had and was very accurate.
I had a variety of FMJ target ammo, in 115gr and 124gr. I was also shooting a CZ compact clone(Tristar C-100). Both guns seemed to like the 124gr better for accuracy.
The one down side was, the different trigger feel of the 2 pistols. I guess I don't have the muscle memory yet to switch back and forth between the 2 guns easily. Next time I'll leave the Tristar at home and work with the SD only.

I had and sold a C100 to buy a CZ P07. The C100 was a great pistol, but I had to get the P07. It s exactly what I thought it would be.

I installed the trigger and spring kit on my SD40VE. I did have to file the back of the trigger a bit, not a big deal. The mods have allowed me to shoot very accurately and been a huge improvement!

You would think APEX might, by some chance, have this trigger being filed deal figured out by now and sell them WITHOUT having to file them.
