Default SD40 to 9mm conversion

Are the ejectors on the SD40 and SD9 the same?

I've got everything accounted for between the two for the conversion except for the ejector.
Any ideas?

Also found out an interesting thing about the SD40.
It will shoot M&P 15 round .40 mags by ProMag.......reliably.

Eight full mags...........no failures to feed or eject. Dropped free every time and locked the slide back every time.

Not sure about the SD series, but my M&Ps work fine with just the barrel and mag.

That's good to know. I guess the M&P extractors and ejectors are pretty much the same in the 9mm and 40 cal.
I'm gonna assume the same in the SDs.

Has the accuracy and reliability been good when shooting the conversion caliber?

Thanks for the info.

These pistols are so cheap, I would think the conversion parts would almost cost what a new 9MM pistol goes for. I dont see the point?

I know the guy who destroys guns confiscated by our sheriffs dept.
He gets to keep most of the parts except for the frame or receiver if its a rifle.

I can get the SD9 barrel, recoil spring and guide, slide and ejector for about 60 bucks.

Sds do NOT interchange between .40 and 9mm. The magazines (and mag wells) are different widths and the barrel tangs are different width.
Can be made to sorta work, but a kluge at best, and WHY?
.40 and .357 sig will interchange barrels IF you can find the .357 sig barrel--not in current production.

The M&Ps mag wells are the same width with 9mm and .40, and the magazines DO interchange--but not the Sigma series.
A 9mm mag is way loose in a .40 frame is SDs, and if you must try it, bend a .40 mag to feed 9mm so the mag will stay put in a .40 frame.
