Default I installed the Boudica

Just put it in today. Right now I have zero over travel so I did a little filing just to make sure it will always fire without having to squeeze harder at the end of the pull. I need to take off a bit more and then off to the range.

I think I'm going to really like it. It shortens pre-travel and you can pick the amount of over travel you desire. The flat face feels more like my 1911 so I like that too.

Here is a picture of the trigger. I bought the gun way below market price so spending some money on it doesn't hurt too much. I already had the laser and red dot.

Boudica was a queen of the British Celtic Iceni tribe who led an uprising against the conquering forces of the Roman Empire in AD 60 or 61. She died shortly after its failure and was said to have poisoned herself. She is considered a British folk hero.

(c) Wiki 2020

I am familiar with her history for many years. The word "beaudacious" comes from her name. But I am not sure I know a danged thing about that gun.

How long have you had yours installed? I can't believe the improvement in length of pull.

I also put spring kit in. That striker spring looks pretty weak. I may go back to stock on that spring if I get any light primer strikes.

Had it in for a few months now. Everything else is stock. I love it. Shorter pull makes such a difference.

I have big hands and long fingers. The flat faced trigger moves the trigger resistance forward just enough to allow more finger strength instead of bending my finger to a less than 90 degree bend with the old trigger.

Can you please explain what you filed on your new trigger? I just recently installed the same trigger. If l can improve it by filing something to make it better l'm all for it. Pics would be nice as well.
Thank You!

Look at your trigger on the left side as you pull (dry fire) it. Watch where the pistol frame stops the trigger travel. That's the surface of the trigger to file down. Go slow and don't take too much.

In order to get the trigger pull weight down I recommend the Wesbaun spring kit. It's lower priced then the APEX spring kit, and IMHO, it's much better than the APEX spring kit.

Hopefully your kit works for you. I've had nothing but problems with Galloway and their 'customer service'.

I also installed a Galloway Boudica trigger, and I did have to file it down to make it shoot. I also ended up chamfering the sides of the flat trigger as when I fired the SD9VE the sides of the trigger were on the sharper side of things . I also installed the spring kit, and now my SD9VE in one of my favorite shooters. I'm thinking of my next upgrade will be the fiber optic sights.

I too installed the Boudica trigger in my SD9. I have not had any problems with it since the 1st time, and up to now, firing it. I must have received a good one.
