sd9ve defective or used?
I'm a new user, I just bought the sd at basspro. I was thinking of changing the trigger since maybe it would make things better or easier.
I watched several videos and concluded I can do it myself.
I've shot the gun several times in the desert, several mags.
While cleaning it, I noticed that the center pin kept popping out and looking the rear trigger pin it was missing. My went into imagination mode and perhaps this NEW gun is actually USED and someone was messing with it.
I told bass, they told me to bring it in as it sounds defective.
OH, when I bought the gun, there was not much there but I don't salesman what I wanted, he went in back and brought out the sd9. I looked it over and bought it. 9mm. Any thoughts?
Thanks yozz

Did it come in a factory box with some items in the box and a Warranty Card or was it just the pistol that the salesman put in a bag ?
My last new purchase was a J-Frame revolver , inside the blue plastic , foam lined , case was instructions , owner's manual , safety tips , warranty cards and a gun lock with two keys .

Yes, there was a box, with instructions/warranty pamphlet, 2 mags, lock and key, trigger lock and key. What I'm thinking is that someone got so pissed off that they either gave him refund to get him out, or maybe some just left it and got disgusted with the whole thing. The box was in good shape, but that still doesn't do it for me. They hold the sales records, no one can look at them, maybe they destroyed his.
But I know the are final, and the gun has to go back to manufacturer if a problem, but in my case Bass pro said bring it in and they'll send it out for me. Anyway, I'm looking for a 22 semi to shoot bottles with. the 9mm I'll use for home protection
thanks

As an addendum, I looked over the box and noted there was a sticker with someone elses name on it. So we have one loose center{trigger} pin that has to go in with a snap and a rear{sear housing} pin missing.
Someone was messing with this "new" gun. Bass says that perhaps someone bought the guy but didnt pass the nics check. I said, who would remove both pins and then put one pin back improperly and forgot the other pin? it would not be done at the factory, someone in my opinion tried to put the spring kit in and couldnt do it, did a bad job putting pins back and brought gun back. There is just too much evidence pointing in that direction what do you think?

Sorry for your troubles.
As you pointed out, for better or worse you bought the gun. Did you take Bass Pro up on their offer to send it back? The factory will either make it like new, or if the gun is not repairable will just send you a new one.
If the gun was previously bought and the NICS denied the purchase, I don't see how it would have left the store to be modified? That would have left someone at Bass Pro fiddling with a new un-transferred gun, which I think is unlikely. The more probable explanation is that it was defective in some way out of the box, and the warranty will take care of things.
Please let us know how matters turn out.

Ok, because I bitched so much, the regional mgr called me and said "anything you want" my gun back, credit toward a new gun or refund.
I tried to buy another gun yesterday at bass on line and each one I picked out was out of stock when I got to putting order in.
So maybe I'll end up taking the old one back, hope it is fixed
Stock for something I'd like is hit and miss

Given the times, I'd stick with what I have & return under warranty.
On the 22, look for a Ruger Mk III or Browning Buckmark, you won't go wrong either way & both have long track records. I own both. If you want cheap, the Walther P22 is great for the price and has a good warranty. I own 4 and use them to teach my students.

I say go with the Ruger. I own a Ruger Standard 4" barrel, made in 1963. My neighbor (when I lived in FL. ATF agent), took it to his lab and had the armorers there rebuild and re-blue it for me. All I had to do was change all the fluids in his '62 Caddy (he furnished the parts).

I ended up buying the walther p22q with a light blue frame. I like colors, it stands out so if guns get mixed up, I can find it, that is why I have a blue car, I can always find it in a lot.
I had my eye on the stoeger str 9 in fdr, which has a light earth color, but again had no stock at the check out. They charge a good premium for the color, but I wanted it. Now if I were to up the ante and bought something for 600-800 dollars, what would be better in function?

I do not know why bass pro would take back a defective gun?I do not believe it would be fixed if it went back to bass pro, It should go to the factory. S&W will send you a Fedex mailer, put it on the box, call fedex, they take it to S&W, when S&W is done they will send it back to you. If you would go through bass pro, you are not going to get to talk to S&W, and it may take longer and you will not have anything to say about it. Do it yourself, S&W pays for it. Missing/ incorrect? trigger pins should be replaced/ repaired by the factory, so if 1 month or 1 year you have a problem, you will have all the info. I have and sold many Sigmas, SW VE, SWSD's and never had any difficulty. Sounds like bass pro made a mistake. Let us know what happens. Be Safe,

HK VP9/VP9sk...or P30/P30sk. I bought the first two because I prefer striker-fired pistols. I've been perfectly satisfied with them.
