Default SD9 with Fiber Optic Sights

I can only pray that the Smith & Wesson revolver gods will forgive me. I just came into possession of a brand damn' new black SD9 Self-Defense Hi-Viz Fiber Optic 9mm, and I like it! It is an Academy Sports & Outdoors exclusive and with my military discount it cost the same as the plain two-tone SD9 VE. Range report will follow.

Good score. I like the black much better than the two-tone.

Well, for a hundred bucks more I could have had the FDE frame with the black slide and a Crimson Trace and regular sights. I really like the Hi-Viz sights and frankly don't need the laser.

My brother described the all black SD as a tool suitable for a workman. That's about right

Congrats on a great gun. I prefer the all black SD over the cheap looking cheesy SDVE series.
Mine has the extended slide release lever, Wesbaun spring kit, and a Galloway Boudica trigger. Trigger pull weight is down from 7.5 lbs. to 5.5 lbs. It's a real tack driver!

Theoretically, yes. But, IMHO, no. They are made by S&W, have the same parts, but the SD9/SD40 has a more aggressive grip. Also, the SD9/40 comes with HI-VIZ sights stock. And, I think the SDVE series looks cheesy and cheap with the silver slide. I owned an SD9VE, and think it shoots very well. But, I just couldn't get over how cheap it looked. Sorry SDVE series owners. I'm just being honest and it's my God given right to feel that way.
The stick on grip pieces on my SD9 were given to me by another SD9 owner here. I just can't remember his name. But, they sure do make my SD9 feel a lot better in my hand when shooting it.

I bought the SD9. Didn't like the trigger. My son in law, replaced the trigger with an Apex kit. It was some improvement. Then the front sight fell off...I gave it to him. Told him I don't care to see IT anymore. It was probably all my fault. It was black and grey, it did look good!

Any sights that fit the S&W M&P semiautos will fit the SD9.

This looks really nice.

I have a standard sd9ve I inherited from my father. Was thinking of having the slide anodized matte black onyx and add some truglo tfx sights.

If you decide to Nitride the slide check this company out. They do some great work.
