Default Sd9ve trigger reset or sear issue???

Just purchased a used sd9ve. Put a apex trigger in it with the spring kit. Did not do the sear spring. Cleaned and lubed it up good. I had to file the trigger a bit to get it to engage...aka click. It seemed ok. Put my first 100 rounds through it today. 40% of the time my trigger went dead after 2 or three rounds and I had to remove the mag and clear the chamber. There would be a round in the barrel but i had no trigger engagement. After the last twenty rounds fired normally i noticed that when i released the trigger i could hear no reset click nor could i feel it. I don't want to file the trigger anymore...or should I? I don't think the lack of reset would be affected. Would it? I'm very new at firearms and would welcome your thoughts. Btw, I never removed the sear assy. Could it be that's where the issue is? I took photos and shared with apex customer support before filing the trigger. They blessed the trigger arm assembly and sear connection. Man, I'm stumped. Can't find any videos on this topic other than glock models which are not the same set up. My sd9ve does have the old style mag safety device.

' i noticed that when i released the trigger i could hear no reset click nor could i feel it.'

Sounds like the trigger is just traveling far enough to reset sometimes. I don't have any experience with Apex triggers or SD9s, only SW9s. Did you hear and feel a reset click with the OEM trigger? If so and you didn't mess with the sear pigtail spring or other sear springs, I would suspect the trigger needs more adjustment in order to reset every time. Might check with Apex again before that.

One last thought. Are the sear springs meant to be installed along with the trigger/springs in order for everything to work properly? Maybe the old sear springs working with the new trigger is causing the reset problems.
