I bought one for my wife. She just loves it. I'm a revolver guy, but I'm going to get one for me.
I really like the SD9 VE, after 200 rounds it really smoothed out and is quite nice. I prefer the fit of this in my hand over the M&P

I always see the Black with stainless slide & barrel but there are FDE & Grey ones currently being made as well as some OD Green ones from days gone bye
The VE = Value Enhanced = No Finish on the barrel & slide
Great Pistols

Thanks Ruger Nut for the grip tape
Hk

Love the grip tape. I'm about to buy one for my truck, and that would look great on a gray frame.

That's a great set-up you put together there.

The Silvertip 147 grain jhp is an ideal selection for a carry ammo from a 4 inch barrel.
9mm Luger (9x19) Ammo - 20 Rounds of 147 Grain Jacketed Hollow-Point (JHP) by Winchester

This gel test is from a 3.1 inch barrel(the SD's 4 inch barrel will provide 100 ft. per second more velocity and even better performance).
Winchester makes multiple different varieties of hollowpoints. But they perform very similarly.

Get one with a black Armornite (same thing as Nitride) finish. The silver slides look too cheesy IMHO.

I have Winchester Gold Talons (The new Black Talons, just Gold) 147 gr. Ranger T-Series JHP in one of my magazines.

Presumably a Home Defense pistol.

That or it's a designated pistol strategically placed specifically in the "den" (i.e. Family Room, Living Room, or Man Cave) for easy access.

That's What I assumed too
Bedroom Gun, Bathroom Gun, Kitchen Gun, Living Room Gun, Man Cave Guns & One at each Door + a few more hidden around the house & a few in the safe that see little use

A Den is a Man Cave

I've sold many of my SD9VEs including this one, but they were all great guns.

I have both a SD9VE and SD9 (all black). I like them both. The Stainless finish looks good IMHO. All black polymer frame pistols are just plain jane common.
