No upgrades here. Mine was left original and functions without any failures of any kind, every time I take it to the range.

There really aren't any other upgrades you can make to it.

You could buy some new sights if the factory sights don't suit your purpose, or you could put a grip sleeve on it if your hands are a bit large for the grip, but otherwise, that's it.

Don't buy any of the aftermarket steel guide rods and recoil spring assemblies, as they are known to damage the firearm over time.

The best use of your money now would be to stock up on ammunition and take it out shooting.

LG-406 Laserguard(R) for Smith & Wesson Sigma Full-Size | CrimsonTrace

Discontinued but can sometimes be found (but maybe not where you're from).

Yep shoot it. The trigger takes some gettin used to,but it is consistent. Mine has countless rounds through it. When I have a malfunction cleaning always fixed the problem. I agree with avoiding the metal guide rods. I tried one and it caused my pistol to lock up. Not a target pistol but very durable and reliable.

Put the Apex spring kit in mine, probably call it good. Lowered the weight a bit, maybe a couple pounds. Don't plan on anything else.

I'd buy a Vytis rear slide cover plate if I could find one.

Only "Upgrade" I made to the SD9 was an APEX Trigger Kit
Nothing else...
I did buy a 3rd magazine for it just because

You guys may have run that new member off being He only posted once 7-8 weeks ago

Instead of lying to him telling him how handsome that aluminum slide cover plate & magazine base are

I like the looks of the SW40 as it still has the round trigger guard like the Sigma before they beveled them off later with the SD9/SD40VE
