Default SD Series Frame Question

Just curious. The SD’s come with Black, Gray, or Flat Dark Earth frame colors. I have only owned the common Stainless Slide/Black Frame variant. A Black Slide/Gray Frame SD9, SKU#11995, followed me home today. Is the frame molded in Gray or just a Black frame coated in Gray?
Thanks for any knowledgeable information.

Best Regards,
ADP3

On the official product page it is listed as a "gray frame finish" so I presume that it's some form of coating, Cerakote most likely, but it doesn't specify.

I would recommend contacting Customer Support and getting the answer directly from them. I've done it in the past to get manufacturing dates, you just send them an e-mail and they generally get back to you within a few business days.

On my FDE SD9 the color is in the polymer as I have had it torn clean down when I put the Apex trigger kit in..
BTW I like the looks of the Gray too = NICE...
