Given that the internals of these two makes are soooo similar, is there any reason to believe that durability should be different? Anyone ever hear what the service life of a Sigma is expected to be?

The older sigmas had issues. These new ones are hard to beat. I would say they will last just as long as a glock plus they have a lifetime warranty.

At today's ammo prices, your $300 gun will probably last long enough to shoot $10,000 worth of ammo.

+1 the two are, IIRC, .02" different! S&W lost a law suit because they were essentially identical!
(sw9ve vs. G19? or was it 17?)
