Not a happy 4566 owner!!
So, I have been looking for a 4566 and found one at buds Gun Shop for a good price. I had been emailing back a forth and few times and told them I was very interested and wanted to know how to pay. I look at the website tonight after not hearing back from them for a few days and...............they sold it!!
Now, I dont want to sound silly, but I was ready to drop the bills on this pistol if they would have just answered a question or two about how. I kinda feel..........crapped on.
They have a nice Smith 1911, but I wonder what will happen with it?
maybe I will try to get a 3913 for when my Utah Non-res CCW comes instead.......
Just a rant, thanks for listening.

Seems like a reasonable rant to me.

Sorry to hear about your bad luck.
Have you thought about gunbroker.com?
Not long ago I bought a Sig P220/22LR (from Buds) and had no issues. I can give some insight to their process if it is of any help.
You buy online. You can send in the payment but if I remember correctly it's not yours until they receive the payment. So they could sell it before then. Yeah...sort of stinks.
Their prices are cash so using a CC will incur fees. But, you can use a CC to "hold" your purchase until they receive their payment. I sent a cashiers check and had my gun in a few days.
FWIW

Man, that's too bad. I'm sorry you didn't get the gun you wanted, but I have to say that when I'm ready to do business I call and talk to a live person. I've found emails to be quite unreliable, both sending and receiving, and would never trust them for important business (and nothing's more important than buying a new gun!)
I hope you find another good one soon. Best of luck to you.

Most companies only check their e-mail once a day, usually by an office member. They print it out and put it in a salesmans slot to action.
Way too much lost time when you have found someting you want.
Like N-Frame Smith said....."call" right away!

Sorry, I dont mean to hi jack your thread or anything but is there a chart full of pics on here showing all the model numbers and pics. I just bought my first smith a few weeks ago and am lost with all these numbers. I feel like Im new in the military again tryin to learn all the aconyms. Ive never owned any other gun brands that had so many differant models and numbers. Im totally impressed that some of you know your stuff well enough to just go off the numbers.

At the very top of the Bud's Gun Shop homepage, it says "Call us at (859) 368-0371." In reading your story, it sounds like someone followed their advice and someone else didn't.
The moral of this story is, if you want at least a chance of immediate action, use the telephone.

WOW, for a minute I thought I'd actually found someone who had a 4566 and wasn't glad they did!
Check the auction boards. Theres some nice 4566's for fair prices on them. Good luck! Regards 18DAI.

Why do you call yourself a 4566 owner? You are not!
Look on Gunbroker.com. I bought a 4586 on Gunbroker and love it. You will surely find several of the model you want. If they do not answer your questions, forget them.

Un-happy 4566 Owner
Hi:
While you were asking questions, someone else said "I'll take it".
A businessman has to choose between a "For Sure" sale and a "Maybe" sale.

4566"s are like street cars, one comes by every 15 minutes. Or is that women. I get confused . I like the 4506 and was tempted on the Bud's 4566. Watched it for about 2 weeks but never pulled the trigger. Two weeks was long enough to decide. Somebody beat us to it.

Bought from Buds
I bought a Glock 34 from Bud's at an attractive price. I agree with the idea of calling them if you have a question. The one policy which I don't care for is holding for "five business days" to clear a personal check. In my case, the five days turned in ten. I know the checked cleared my bank on day three and that wasn't business days. At that point, I think they should ship. I don't like to mail bearer paper like a cashier's check. Sorry about you not getting the pistol you wanted. Before you buy any third generation Smith, be sure you can live with the trigger. They are not easy to modify like a Beretta, Glock or 1911.
