Default Used 6946 price

I saw a used 6946 in VG to EXC condition at a local gun shop recently. Night sight, 5 mags, and the asking price is 325. Seems like a decent deal and I have noticed through the years that used SW autos never seem to command a premium. But still the question remains, why such a low price? I mean a used Glock with truck tire tread marks would seem to fetch more in the used market.

Because it's DAO and not fashionable...
Great deal on that one if it's in good shape, jump on it.

I hear ya; however, the DAO action can't be the only reason. To wit, SIG sells a boat load of DAO pistols and I can think of several polymer pistols that feature a similar ignition system. I mean the new SW M&P and Glock pistols may be advertised as a single action pull but when I think SA I think of 1911 not 1" of travel and lots of compression...

$325 is a good price for the 6946. I have one and is still a favorite carry gun. I like the DAO trigger and I prefer not to have safeties on my pistols.

Buy it and you can find cheap mags for it at CDNN Investments.

Because people don't really know much about guns except what they are told by others that don't know much, and will guzzle Glock Kool-Aid till they gag on it and drown.

With five mags they're practically giving the gun away.

I carry a 6946 every day. Thousands of times I've pulled the trigger, go bangie every time. I need another one like I need a hole in the head, but I wouldn't have passed that deal up.

This is starting to get funny. I remember several years ago when S&W was on everybodys hit list, and dealers wouldn't take S&W's in trade, and wouldn't give 3rd generations autos a second glance. Now the 3rd generations are highly sought after.

Interesting.

I just bought a 3rd gen S&W 5906 last wk for $350 from a co-worker. 3 -15rnd mags plus FOBUS holster & mag carrier.

I felt it was too good of a deal to pass up.

It is funny, isn't it? I can spout a lot about certain revolvers and 1911 pistols but know little about the SW autos. It has just always seemed that they get second tier status, thus can be had at a song. The only thing I have not liked about them is that they have that "sproing" sound when one drops the trigger, but then, so do Sigs. Thanks for the guidance guys and I may end up about 300 lighter than I am...
